I keep getting tiny holes in them!

Most of the holes are at the bottom of my shirt where the seatbelt rubs them.

I like the thinness of them, but I have had to throw away 4 of them in the past month.

Does anyone have a brand they like and seems to wear well?

I love Old Navy Tshirts!

I will have to check them out.

I stopped shopping there since the shirts were so long.

But I am tired of paying Ann Taylor prices and then getting holes in a few weeks!

I can only speak about their men's shirts but I think the best t-shirts are from American Apparel.

I like lands end t shirts. LE will also replace the shirts if they wear out.

I thought this only happened to me, almost every single T shirt I had/have get those little holes. Kohl's brand of Sonoma seem to hold up pretty well although they are a bit thicker than the Old Navy ones. Those seem to get holes as well, not sure if it is because they are thinner. I am tired of buying new shirts all the time because of this.

I have a white one on right now! Love them! And I have never gotten holes in them. Hmmm.

Do you by any chance have an HE washing machine?

I have noticed that since we got our HE washing machine that several of my shirts have gotten tiny holes in them. I didn't make the connection until someone posted the same thing and blamed the HE machine on a thread here on the DIS.

I have since noticed the same type of tiny holes in several knit items - pj pants, shorts, etc...

My favorite shirts are the ones from Land's End but I also love the Sonoma ones from Kohl's and the Merona brand from Target. The Merona ones are the thickest of those 3 and seem to last a bit longer and avoid the tiny holes from the HE machine.

I think this is just for women's. My husband doesn't have this problem.

When I say Tee I am not talking about workout clothes but knit tops with some kind of embellishment or detail. They often are called tissue weight and you can layer some of them as well.

I will have to check them out for basics.

I think I have to weigh thicknes with durability.

I don't like really thick tops. The summer's here are hot and the thinner ones are much more comfortable. Plus the cuter tops seem to be the thinner ones.

Thanks everyone for your input!

Interesting. Yes, I do have an HE washer and dryer. I am not noticing them on my kids or husbands clothes though. And the majority are in the "seatbelt" area so I think it's a contributing factor as well.

Drive without a shirt ;)

:rotfl: I have thought about lifting up my shirt (not too high;) when I get in and put my seatbelt on. I might try that as well.

Hiya, KEL!

I also have the Merona T-shirts from Target but those I have are the long sleeved T's and I love them as well. :thumbsup2

I've stopped buying their t-shirts. They used to be thicker, way better quality, but now they're almost paper thin. When you wash them, their inferior quality really shows.

We have an HE machine, but I haven't noticed tiny holes in my clothes. :confused3

This happens to me no matter what I do I have t-shirts from all of the places mentioned except for American A and Land's end (love their pants but don't like the cut of the t-shirts), and they all get holes in them in that exact area no matter what I do. I have also had both HE and regular washing machines and neither seems to be any better or worse for me. Wearing a tank top underneath seems to delay the holes but no matter what I replace all of my T-shirts a few monts after I buy them it is maddening.

Wow, I have the same issue. I always blamed the washing machine, even though DH's clothes don't get holes in them. It is so frustrating. I've noticed recently I've started getting holes in the sleeves as well, just tiny little ones, but still. I can't recall this ever happening before 2 or 3 years ago.

If you think that it's the seat belt, then put a cover on your seat belt. You can buy them in auto parts depts. (They are really made to go on the shoulder strap so that it won't rub your neck, but I don't see why you couldn't put it on the lap part instead.)

I have the same problem. I blame it on the cat though, he loves to knead in my lap with his claws.

Hiya, Kar! Was thinking about you yesterday and wondering if your DBro was still overseas.

For those that like the Target tees - looks like they are on sale for $10 this week. I haven't been to see if those are the nice thick ones or not. Has anyone else bought any this week?

Kel, yes, he is still there. Looks to be coming home if all goes well in July!!! :cool1: Interesting, Kel, as none of us had heard from him in the past 4 weeks. Even Easter, he never called or emailed anyone. M&D were nervous as they always are not even getting a holiday call. THEN Monday we all got emails on his pending schedule home. We (the family) all thought that was interesting on how nothing for 4 weeks and then Monday he is emailing all of us …. hmmm. :scratchin You know where I am going with that, right, Kel!!!!

ANYWAY, I have the Target flier right here and they have Merona T's and Tanks for $9.99 but they also have a really good deal on Champion Women's T's that are usually $9.99 for $7.00. Tons of colors. :thumbsup2
