Ladies, a rather personal question...

...can you handle another "thong" thread? A while back there was a thong thread where several DISers said they LOVE them and they find them very comfortable - IF you buy the right kind.

Well, I'm once again trying them out, and finding this new batch to be pretty darned uncomfortable. Can someone PLEASE direct me to the ones that ARE comfortable?

Wish I could help you but regular underwear on me is starting to look like a thong!

Good luck in your quest. If I could wear them I would.

I like Vanity Fair and Victoria's Secret brands... If you don't like the thongs, maybe you could try something else, like a Brazilian tanga?

How long have you been wearing them? It takes a little while to get used to it. Kind of like wearing a bra for the first time. ;) :p :D

Edited: I like Victoria Secret's thongs. :)

When I first started wearing thongs, my friend gave me the piece of advice that I had to wear them every day for 7 days before I gave up on them. The first two days I was ready to throw in the towel (or thong!), but by day 7, I was loving them!

Having said that, I also like Victoria's Secret brand. I find the regular thongs to be much more confortable than the "V-string".

I've tried them on and off for about a year now. I always give up because they get so uncomfortable. I'll have to try VS and see what happens.;)

Not to be gross, but some of the VS ones have too much material and are too "wide" in the back and they are very uncomfortable.

I like the Jockey ones I get at the outlet store...they're really sheer and thin in the back.

Jockey and Hanes her way are more comfortable. Get cotton over any other fabric, you'll notice a difference.

Another one here for Victoria Secrets. I prefer the low rise ones.

OK, another gross question. Which are better - the ones that have a "string" like back or the ones that have a little more "meat" on them?

My husband prefers the "thinner" ones...they are apparently "sexier";) . I find the "meatier" ones more comfortable.

I prefer Victoria's Secret V-Strings, but I also wear their thongs. :)

LOL - picture you putting a band-aid on your hand in-between two of your fingers where your fingers meet the palm of your hand. If you have a thin bandaid, it fits nicely between your fingers. A band-aid that's too wide can rub your other fingers together. Same with these hence why some of the VS ones with too much material are very uncomfortable and they don't fit right. My theory is the less material the better. Something a little more than a string is about right.

I like VS too, the ones that have seamless "middles." I like the ones with a little more meat to them.

That is a perfect comparison. Why didn't I think of that?;)

I've been using the "meatier" ones, but I think I'll try something thinner after reading this.:D

I agree with the poster who said that VS undies have waaay too much material, but I think it's because my crotch is 'short,' if that makes any sense. I don't wear thongs unless I really have to, but I like the Tommy Hilfiger thongs that I found at Macy's. They're low-rise (so no peeking out of my jeans!), and they have the 'string' back, which I find more comfortable.

I don't think thongs were designed with comfort in mind, but you do get used to them. :p

VS definitely has too much material unless you buy the string ones.

And not to be gross either, but the first time I wore one, I chapped my butt and it took me a long time to try them again.

My husband just looked over my shoulder and cannot believe that I am on a forum posting stuff about thongs and butts.

LOL!

Just tell him it's all in the name of femininity.;) That would be enough to make my DH turn around and walk away.:p

I told him that women are smart enough to ask other women rather than tough it out like men.
