As most of you probably remember my "baby" Lacy (my 11 yr old poodle) had a problem a few months back with some pretty violent seizures. She was put on medicine which has helped, but not completely. She had another seizure this morning. Matthew took off from work, since I couldn't, and took her to the vet to be checked out. While they were there they noticed something wrong with her eye. After a closer inspection they discovered she has acute glaucoma in one eye. They don't know if they have caught it early enough to save her eye. They are putting her on an IV treatment for the next 24 hours to try to save it. If this doesn't work, she will have to have her eye removed. They can't just let it remain and her be blind in one eye because it would become painful for her. :( Please, please, keep my baby in your prayers. I'm sick over the fact that all this is happening and I'm stuck at my stupid job and can't be there for her. I should be able to get out of her soon enough to pick her up at the vet to be transported to the emergency vet across town to continue her treatment. That part always kills me though, having to carry her hooked up to these tubes and bags.

Please, please, keep my baby in your prayers.

Saying a prayer to St. Francis for Lacey and sending you guys (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) and tons of pixie dust

The doctor just called me. They started the treatment. He called to tell me that he is afraid that she never had epilepsy at all, but had a tumor in her brain, and that is also causing this problem with her eye. If it is a tumor, there is nothing I can do for her. I'm going to lose her :(

I am soooo sorry to hear about your baby. We are here for you. God's love is all encompassing and will surround her during this time. Let us know if we can do anything for you...

Such a tough time for you all!

My prayers and hopes for the best!

We are sending tons of prayers and PD. It is terrible to see a loved one in a health crisis. We hope that something can be done so you won't lose Lacy.

I'm still hoping for you and for sweet Lacy that they are wrong about the tumor...prayers for you all.

We will have you in our prayers...

I hope the treament works. As hard as it is to think about having one eye is better than the constant pain of angle closure glaucoma.

Sending prayers

Denise.

Lauri, send you and Lacy as much Pixie Dust as I can locate around here. Hope everything works out OK.

Lauri - you have the support and pixie dust from us - we,too, have a little dog and know how difficult it is when animals have medical problems. Please let us know how Lacy is doing - we do care!

Lauri and Matthew,
You are most definitely in my thoughts!
After losing Charcoal (my 15 yr old kitty) last Thursday I know exactly what you mean. I'm hoping for the best for you both. It is an extremely difficult thing to deal with and I am wishing you a great deal of strength to handle whatever may come.
Best wishes to you, Matthew and Lacey.

Laurie,
I was just thinkuing about Lacy the other day wondering how she was. It's a cliche but words can not express how sorry I am for you Mathew and your baby. I'll send prayer and PD your and her way. I hope it's not a tumor and that whatever it is she isn't in pain.I know what you were describing with the tubes...can just break your heart seeing them in that condition. My littlte furry love, Holly, truly seems to understand when I have to do medical things with her... that I'm helping her. Lacy is fortunate in that she has people who love her so dearly. I believe that is a great source of help and comfort to Lacy.Let us knowhow she's doing if you get a chance.
