Lack of FP+ options

September 8-12. Still a ways away but still makes me nervous

Absolutely start at booking FP's from your last day and work back. There's no point in trying for things like SDD or FOP on the first few days right now. Our trip is 13 days and I didn't see good availability until day 7-8 for FOP, SDD, MMRR and SR. We planned out our days before booking, but with that many days it was easy to book the less popular rides at the front end, hard to get on the back end. The only good thing is I'm betting there are going to be lots of cancellations and if you stalk a little, can pick things up.

unfortunately I will only a 5 day trip. So there’s not a big window to begin with. I’m also curious if the recent announcement about potentially moving to virtual queues might be in effect, especially if they are ready to increase capacity in phases.

According to The Dibb FP+ tracker you should be fine. Make sure you are on at 7a and do those two parks first.

It’s funny. Normally I plan out park days then try and get FP accordingly. Now looks like I’ll have to do it the other way around for sure.

We’re June 22-28 and still no DHS Tier 1s with frequent checking. I did manage to snag a SDD yesterday.... but on our “rest” day. May have to rework those two days completely.

Our FP window opens on 5/16 and still don't know whether or not to purchase tickets ! We are in the epicenter of hell right now in NYC, and we need this vacation so badly, but really doubt flight restrictions into Florida will be lifted in time for our trip! Boy, I long for the days of "stress-free" FP booking !!

I'd consider booking a package as it's fully refundable up until what like 30 days out? (double check that) so you might have a better idea of what you're potentially in for

7/8 - HS - Star Tours 11:35, TOT 1:10, R&RC 7:10

7/10 - MK - Haunted Mansion 10:20, Space Mtn 12:15, Pirates 1:40. Will hopefully RD Splash & Big Thunder

I got almost next to nothing that I wanted time-wise this morning. The only FOP was at 60+5 for 7:15PM. Absolutely no SDD or MFSR for my entire trip 7/16-7/13. We are likely going to cancel this trip anyways, but I was hoping for a small ray of sunshine to keep me motivated/plugged in. This whole covid thing sucks. I'm not making light of the people who have died or gotten sick - please don't misunderstand me - but in my reality, this was my wife's 50th birthday celebration. A HUGE milestone in anyone's life. I guess we will just have to have a 51st celebration next year. Ugh. Thanks for letting me vent.

That is what the DIS is for - for us to share our planning wins and woes with each other. I agree with you, in the grand scheme of things, our plans for a vacation at Disney are nothing to compare to what so many people are experiencing but we can be deeply disappointed in having to cancel or modify our plans and expectations. Plans many of us have been thinking about and dreaming about for years!

In case anyone is looking for it, we just traded a 5:20 pm Seven Dwarfs for an earlier time on July 4th. I just rechecked and it was still available. First stalking/modifying success we’ve had!

I got MMRR at 60+5 at 6:50

Made these for no reason though because we are 99% cancelling and rescheduling for next year

That is the problem. You should not need 60+7 and 60+8 to have a shot at those rides. It has never been this bad.

Yeah it’s weird, I don’t think they are all being loaded at same time, or people have been canceling. I was surprised to see FEA on my first day still available for half the day. However, I’ve never not gotten Sevens dwarfs, today was a first.

That is the problem. You should not need 60+7 and 60+8 to have a shot at those rides. It has never been this bad.

As I said earlier, I think they're limiting FP numbers in preparation for opening with a limited number of people. There's no other explanation I can think of that explains what should be a relatively easy time of year to get FPs. When you factor in what undoubtedly is a lower number of people coming when they open, it makes even more sense that the numbers have been cut. It took us until day 7 when we booked last week to get where fp's were fully available.

I just did FP's for our trip (we were on at 7am, of course). We put HS & AK at the end to increase our chances of getting decent rides/times. We're morning park people and unfortunately so much of the FP availability wasn't until the afternoon. I'm hoping I'll be able to move some stuff up.
This was a totally different ball game from our May FP day.

7/07 (60): Arrival day
7/08 (60+1): Epcot (easiest day because I planned them for the evening).
7/09 (60+2): Relax day
7/10 (60+3): MK (I got Splash at 10am, BTMR at 1:40pm, and Space M at 2:40pm). Mostly afternoon availability.
7/11 (60+4): HS (No Tier 1s. RnRc at 12pm, TSMM at 1:40pm). I was shocked I couldn't get tier 2 rides in the AM.
7/12 (60+5): AK (Grabbed FOP as my first FP and got 1:55pm)(EE & Safari were easy and bright & early).

I knew going into it that we'd have limited availability so I booked everything for as early as I could get it (with the exception of our Epcot day). I usually stack them 9-10, 10-11, 11-12 so that gives you an idea of what you're looking at.

We didn’t have near as good luck as Fourth of July week in 2017 and Spring break week 4 other times. In 2017 we got FOP for our two AK days. One day was early in our trip. This time we were only able to snag FOP at 60+6 and Smugglers at 60+7. Aftet those two I hurried to try to get MMRR at 60+4. No go. Next tried to get FOP 60+3 nope. Noted that SDD was gone as well well I tried to get MMRR. Last trip we went opening week of TSL and was able to land SDD both of our HS days as well as FOP both AK days. I was able to get Space Mountain (didn’t try for SDMT) as much kids are older and like scarier better. Also RnRC was available as was TOT. Also noted this trip most fast passes are booked in evening (5-9 times) as now that kids are older they voted to experience them when its starting to get darkish/dark. I am disappointed. I didn’t want NAvi. I wanted FOP lol
