Lack of FP+ options

Just a guess, but I think they’re limiting availability. Even during the busiest times I never see attractions booking 5 days out. When we booked for March, we got everything we needed and it was a 5 day trip. They were booking 3 days out at most. With all the unknowns, the number of people going in the next couple of months has to be lower than normal. Limiting the number released is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I agree! I think Disney is limiting the number of fastpasses. I am wondering if I should even book fastpasses for EPCOT for the week of June 28-July 3rd. I did but saw on the modified experiences Rumor thread that EPCOT might not even open when the other parks do for some reason.

You as well as everyone should not believe anything rumored/posted until Disney gives direct information. In fact the Mods are fighting a losing battle trying to stop the flow of misinformation daily.

So I just booked FP for a July 6-13 stay. (Long story, but short version is this is an earlier backup to my original rescheduled July 25-Aug 1, cause I’m dealing with a potential rescheduled wedding.)

Options were garbage. I’m not sure if it’s the 4th of July, General July, or extra limitations.

Here was some of the earliest availability for a party of 2:
Mine Train was 60+4 at 8:40 pm.
Flight of Passage was 60+5 at 6:55 pm
Mickey and Minnie Railroad was 60+6 at 4:35 pm

I really appreciate the detail posted by previous posters. I agree. They have limited availability quite a bit. I've had a lot of short trips in the past year, at different busy/holiday times. SDD and FoP are super hard to get, but except for SDD and FOP, I've been able to get most of the other attractions in the morning or early afternoon at 60+1, 60+2, and 60+3. This availability is not normal...

This morning, after updating from today's FP bookings:

MMRR- booked 5 days out
SR-4 days out
SDD-4 days out
FOP- 4 days out
SDMT- 2 days out

This is for a party of 4 and keep in mind, even when it does show availability on the following few days, chances are it's limited as to how many and what time of day. And usually in that 60 day window you'll see a few days here and there that are open for at least 1 party of 4- these, with the exception of SDMT are solidly booked every day in the 60 day window. I've never seen it this bad. I would guess you're looking at day 7 or more before you see decent times and availability for those rides.

Booking FP’s next week for a hopeful mid-July trip. I see all the top rides have had very limited availability. We aren’t trying to do any of those rides but hoping to get FP’s for the stuff our daughter likes (Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan, maybe Tomorrowland Speedway). Can anyone comment on availability for stuff like that lately?

As of now, those rides are no problem at 60 days.

Same here - WE are scheduled for July 14 but will probably cancel - I'm not really scared of going , but won't spend all of this money for a "limited" wdw

Peter Pan was gone this morning at 60+4 but the others you mentioned were available. However, the times weren’t great. With younger kids we like to go in the morning, ride a few things before it’s busy, use our fast passes and then take a break during the crowded/most hot part of the day and go back in the evening using the extra one by one fast pass availability. It was very difficult to get anything before 2:00 and then even more difficult to get all 3 to line up in any consistent way.

Yikes, ok thanks for the info. Doesn’t bode well for me booking at 60+2 but we shall see. We do the same as far as morning times for our little one.

That's surprising about PPF since the Dibb is showing the last day booked fully to be 6/26. I just check on 30 day availability for it on my MDE and can get it at 30 days and for 60 days from today in the afternoon. I even checked for 60+4 and could get it for 4 people around noon. Maybe you had a glitch or something , but PPF is definitely available long before 60+4 when I checked. You might want to take another look?

Thanks so much! I will definitely look again! I was probably so distracted by the weird times and lack of availability at all of the new/popular ones that I missed it.

I got almost next to nothing that I wanted time-wise this morning. The only FOP was at 60+5 for 7:15PM. Absolutely no SDD or MFSR for my entire trip 7/16-7/13. We are likely going to cancel this trip anyways, but I was hoping for a small ray of sunshine to keep me motivated/plugged in. This whole covid thing sucks. I'm not making light of the people who have died or gotten sick - please don't misunderstand me - but in my reality, this was my wife's 50th birthday celebration. A HUGE milestone in anyone's life. I guess we will just have to have a 51st celebration next year. Ugh. Thanks for letting me vent.

It’s funny. Normally I plan out park days then try and get FP accordingly. Now looks like I’ll have to do it the other way around for sure.

My trip is June 2-8, and when we booked we got next to nothing. No luck on refreshes either, but I had been holding out hope that if Disney cancelled May, some of those FPs for the 60+7+ might come available. But when they cancelled late May yesterday, still no luck.

If they open early June Ithink the experience with FPs and such is going to be vastly different. I don't know what it will be, but the lack of early availability (60+5) and the fact that stuff didn't pop back up when other trips got cancelled makes me think there's something more at play.

of course, I'm probably three days away from finding out it's all moot.

Absolutely start at booking FP's from your last day and work back. There's no point in trying for things like SDD or FOP on the first few days right now. Our trip is 13 days and I didn't see good availability until day 7-8 for FOP, SDD, MMRR and SR. We planned out our days before booking, but with that many days it was easy to book the less popular rides at the front end, hard to get on the back end. The only good thing is I'm betting there are going to be lots of cancellations and if you stalk a little, can pick things up.
