Lack of communication from Fidelity

Yea, lesson learned about Fidelity. Guess I was used to getting my hand held by the other broker. Hopefully, this is the last snag and the force will be with me.
Hopefully you have no more issues. The other brokers I have worked with have been outstanding in comparison

I’m sure they all have issues.
I stopped receiving text alerts from the Timeshare Store, even though relevant contracts have hit their site.

I’m going through resale now with DVC Resale Market and they didn’t send me the paperwork on the day they promised, and then had some typos. It’s sitting with Disney for ROFR now, so I’m trying to keep my patience packed.

I worked with Fidelity twice, first time it went to ROFR in 4 days, second time, in 5 days, so overall, no issues. I did feel their process may not be optimal, thus i always chose options that carry least chance of failure, for example, handling all documents via docuSign, and closing by Mason.

I still like them a lot, might be because i am an awful negotiator, while their prices barely require any negotiation. So I guess being cheap, weak and patient are qualities required to work with them? :)

I had issues with fidelity early on when I was looking for my first resale add on, and ended up retracting an offer. Ended up buying one contract from DVC Store and one from DVC resale market and was very happy with both. Of the title companies though I felt Magic title company was the best. They really knew there stuff and kept me in the loop.

I am in the process of buying my first contract through fidelity. It has been sent for ROFR and is still listed as “Available” on their website.

took about a week for the one I’m buying to go to pending on the site

Ya no issues with Fedilty here. Not great at communicating but doesn't matter.

If you are putting in an offer call them. If you don't hear about the status email them and a day later call.

Regardless you can easily check that closing thread to see what time lines should be and when to ask for updates.

I've had a terrible experience with Fidelity so far and will never use them again. Started off with decent communication but no communication anymore unless we call. My contract was signed on January 7th and no updates on ROFR. From the way they act I would think they are not a legitimate company but many others say they come through eventually. We did get Mason title for our title company which is supposed to be one of the better ones. That is if we ever get to the point of needing a title company.

Did they not send you the signed contract after the owner signed?

Just finished 3rd contract of 4 successful ROFR over the past three months - most recently with Buy and Sell DVC, Inc. A smaller outfit, but they were insanely efficient in the bid, counters, and handoffs. TRCS was the Title company and the same. The interface and email communications were seemless. So far out of the 15+ bids over these months, this grouping has been the best we've experienced. DVC Resale Market is a close second with Andy.

has it gone to ROFR? I had one go with another company earlier in Jan and it was passed in 6 days

I eventually got a copy of it, both us and the seller signed on January 7th.

I originally thought it was going to rofr on the 8th but got a email later that it was delayed being sent to verify with Disney that the points were banked. Then got another email that it was sent to ROFR on the 13th. I really don't know if or when it's been sent. They just tell me they don't know anything because Disney hasn't responded yet. So I'm 31 days since a signed contract and absolutely no more information than the day I signed.

We had a great experience with them. The title company was slow but the seller took over 4 weeks to send back docs. Signed docs March 25...sent to rofr 26th. Got word we passed April 5th. It was out of there hands in my experience.

I would follow up on the 12th since that will be 30 days since it was sent to ROFR

We have had 2 good experiences with fidelity. But we did pick our title company which I think is key. Apparently first American is a nightmare, not just with timeshare purchases but also with home purchases, so don’t use them. Fidelity is professional but does provide a bare bones experience. If you like a lot of communication, you probably should go with another company. We go for price, personally.

I’ve received good communication from First American thus far. Just waiting on ROFR and then I will have a good gauge of the overall experience.

They sent ours 1/22 and she emailed this morning and told me it was waived. im surprised since they don’t work weekends. But I will take. No hurry on the last part for me. The contract won’t be used till 2022 anyway. We are also using first American.
