I was just watching my local news and they were saying that her husband was having an affair and took out a $250,000 life insurance policy on her. It is starting to look like to me that he did it.

Any thoughts?

Ever since the first time I heard the story and heard that he left his 8 1/2 month pregnant wife on Christmas Eve to go fishing or hunting or whatever, I thought something was up. I think we have had so many of these cases where the husband acts distraught over the death (or disappearance) of his wife and then it turns out its him, that I just expect it to be the husband now...and it usually is. I know hes innocent until proven guilty, and Ill wait until there is concrete proof before "convicting" him, but my guess is the police have a lot more evidence than they are letting on and are just waiting for him to slip up(exactly what happened in 1 local case a few years ago).
Its so sad!

As soon as I heard this, I thought back many years ago to the couple from Boston-wife was pregnant and was shot on their way home from a birthing class, husband claimed a stranger did it. Later determined he was involved-anyone else remember it?

Simba's Mom....I remember that case very well. Wasn't his name Charles Stuart? The police were just about to arrest the husband, when he jumped off the Mystic River Bridge and committed suicide. That was such a tragic case. And an innocent black man was held for questioning.

Oh wow! That is so awful.....that is the first picture I've seen of her, shes so pretty and seems so happy. I hope they get the person behind this whether it be the husband or not and get him soon! I also hope they find her or at least her remains so that family can have some sort of peace and closure. This is so so sad!

I suppose the husband has no comment on these new developments huh.

The Stuart case, and other around that time of parents killing their child in Rhode Island, really convinced me that people are up to anything. Very tragic. I hope he is exonerated, because I just don't WANT to believe that we have another such tragic case.

I wonder if someone can take out a life insurance policy on a spouse, without their knowledge?

This story was the subject on one of those news shows the other night (20/20, Primetime, etc.) and they interviewed both Laci's parents and the husband's and the whole family on both sides said that there was NO WAY the husband could ever have done that. Those poor families and poor Laci. Too sad

What's funny to me is how the husband didn't talk at all, and now that they've discovered the insurance policy and the affair, he's singing like a bird. Telling everyone it's good that this information is keeping the story in the media, that it will keep the investigation hot. If they determine he did this, I'll be sick. His baby was just about ready to be born.

I was watching CourtTV and they did an update and the findings so far are as follows:
1) The girlfriend who lives in another town saw his picture on TV and called police to ask why her "divorced" boyfriend was on TV.
2) They did find blood on the kitchen floor of the home...it is being sent to the lab.
3) He has a shed or something near his work and was making cement anchors...

I wonder what his inlaws are saying to him NOW?

It just doesn't look like this man is innocent.

I've been trying to keep up with the case. It's just so incredibly sad. I too thought it was strange the husband went on a fishing excursion on Christmas eve. It just didn't sound right. Now with the mistress and the insurance money, it seems he had motivation and incentive.

I feel so sorry for Laci Peterson and her unborn son. If her husband did it and wanted out, why didn't he just leave?
