Anyone else waiting for decent prices? So far they're HIGH on all airlines.

Currently cheapest I see is around $280/RT +/- $10 or so depending on exact dates. It's possible fares may go down for that weekend in the next 30-60 days. Bing.com currently does not show its predictions because its too far out.

Yes, they are all outrageous, esp for that time of year. I'm looking for Sept 8-12 and still haven't bought, waiting for fares to hopefully drop.

If you can stay until day after Labor Day, SW offers $118 each way, Fri-Tues.

Airtran has Fri-Mon for $101 each way or $223.40, from Philly.
AT also flies out of AC if that would work for you from $82 each way but not many non-stops, if that's important to you. Tues after LD has a non stop for $82.

Thanks! I could do Atlantic City (and am staying until Tue) but no stops!! I have a 4yr old and 1yr old and maneuvering through the airport to make a connection is just not happening for us! I'd even go out of Phila.

Not sure if you checked but Contintenal out of Newark is $226 RT, with all taxes and fees it's about $250pp.

Last year I got a sale on Southwest for $79 each way (+ taxes and fees) so I'm holding off for something similar. Let's hope....!

Thanks but Newark is about 1.5 hrs drive. Philly is about .5. It would have to be a really big savings for me to want to add 2 hrs RT.
I've flown out of Baltimore back when fares were cheap. :goodvibes

Oh so you're really south. Newark is about 1hr, Phila 1.5hr. Last time we saved $250 by flying out of Phila so it was well worth the extra hr for me.

Let's keep watching....

Wow, that's great! For $250, I'd do it. The differences I'm seeing now are more like $40-50.

I was also going to mention Spirt out of A/C. I've considered flying out of Allentown, PA which is about 2 hours from us. The flights for our dates are $145 r/t non-stop on Airtran plus a seat charge and $15 first bag fee. Linda :)

Was this Airtran out of AC or PHL?:confused3

Go SPIRIT from AC. The best prices! :)

Holy smokes!! I had checked them originally but dropped them from my daily checking routine. I just looked again and if I join the $9 Fare Club for $40 they have 1 flight going there and 1 flight coming back for $31pp!! The total for the 3 of us would be ~$332 round trip, with the fare club membership. The times kinda suck (leaving ACY at 6:45am!!) but I'm thinking for the savings it's probably worth it. Gotta convince dh though. We flew Spirit once before (about 8 yrs ago) and had a bad experience and vowed to never fly again, but at these prices I may reconsider and give them 1 more shot.

I read on here if you book AirTran through Kayak they don't charge you for picking a seat. We're only going for 4 nights so can probably make do with 3 carry-ons since we have 3 tickets.

Sadly, that glitch has been fixed and they do charge you for the seat assignment.

Airtran now has a two-step priority boarding at $15 and $13. in the front now, so not all the seats are $6.00, with the exception of the exit rows at $20.00.

Baltimore seems to always be cheaper than Philly whenever I go.

I am online right now and I see a non-stop flight going down on Friday at $92.00 leaving at 7:25 am.

And on Tuesday, coming back there are a few non-stop flights for $92.00, leaving at 2:46 pm and 8:05 pm.

Just keep in mind all the baggage fees with Spirit now.

You're not kidding!! I asked dh and he said "do it" before I could finish the sentence! I just went and booked. They charge for carry-ons too!! It's 4 nights and only myself, dh, dd4, and ds1 so I'm thinking we can make do with 1 check-in luggage and a backpack each. Then they charge for seat selections too! As long as we're at least 2 together then that'll be OK, it's a short flight. I booked before I checked their policies so I'll need to fill dh in on the no seat assignment until later... :rolleyes1

$9 Fare Club enrollment + 3 round trip nonstop tickets = $332.37

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Not bad! :thumbsup2

I think Baltimore also has more flights than Philly too. I was able to get $86 each way on SW from Philly for our long weekend in Sept. using the $25 off coupon from here.

(scroll to bottom to see coupon info. Just send someone a postcard and they send for a $25 coupon. Takes about 1 week to arrive in email. All 4 of us sent them to each other but found out only 1 was needed.)

2 free bags pp and no seat fees, change fees, etc. Works for me. :goodvibes:woohoo:
