Labor Day Weekend Chances

I'm thinking about planning a quick trip to WDW next Labor Day weekend with a few of my friends. I would be trying for an OKW studio for the Saturday night and Sunday night. We want to wait until airfare comes out to make sure it is affordable, which means we would need to wait until 6 months out. Then I would be attempting to rent some extra points from The Timeshare Store. I'm not sure how long that takes, but I'm a little worried that Labor Day weekend will fill up fast. What are my chances of getting a studio 4-5 months out on this holiday?

My thoughts are that Labor Day isn't a huge vacation time for DVC members, but I think you could be cutting it close. I hope you get what you want!

Would booking require you to borrow points? If not, why not book them and then if the airfare 6 months out is not doable, cancel. Unless you would be stuck with points, it doesn't hurt to book.

I did this for an Oct trip. DH and I thought about going so I booked in Dec. We then decided in March not to go so I called and canceled it. Since they were current UY points, they just went back in to my account.

I will be using only 2 current points and renting the other 21 points, hopefully from The Timeshare Store. I don't want to rent the points if we end up not going.
