This was our 3rd trip over labor day weekend and as with the other 2 trips crowds were no problem and the weather was hot hot hot....
This was also our first time staying a AKL. Although we enjoyed our stay there we are pretty spoiled with Beach Club Villas so next time it will be back to BCV. First the reason we are spoiled is the pool and location, location, location, (less time on buses). As for AKL, check in was smooth and the room was nice. We had SV and did get to see some animals, but nothing really close. The 2nd day there they forgot to clean our room, not sure why we didn't have anything on the door. I called them around 9pm and had them send up some clean towels, the next day it was cleaned right away. We liked the pool, the only problem was for the first time with all of the trips we have taken to WDW we had a problem finding chairs near the pool so I could keep an eye on my dd13. Part of the reason was the way the pool is designed and part of the problem was people who saved chairs early on. At one point I found a chair near the small bridge by the slide. The people next to me were there when we arrived at the pool at 11am, they had 5 chairs saved with only 1 person sitting in a chair. Around 12pm they left to go take naps and get lunch in the room leaving all of their stuff on their chairs. When I left at 3pm they still had not returned. Oh well what can you do....
The parks were great we went early and walked on just about all of the rides, this included RRC and Mt Everest...
We ate at Rose and Crown (one of our favorites), Jiko (Halibut was excellent), Boma (breakfast), and Raglan Road. We enjoyed all of the above, the only issue with Raglan Road is DD13 didn't find anything that interested her. Jiko was pricey, but the food and wine was excellent.
So overall a great trip and it looks like this might become a yearly thing...
Thanks,
Denise
