Please no flames, but...

I went to La Nouba this past summer, and although it was good, I was glad I didn't spend hundreds for my whole family to go (I was at a conference).

I just thought that there are so many amazing things at WDW, La Nouba just wouldn't justify the extra expense, IMO.

Maybe it was built up too much in my head because of what I'd heard about it. :confused3

Am I the only one?

I think La Nouba is an awesome show! :cool1:

I think La Nouba is an awesome show as well. It's okay if you didn't like it enough to justify the expense. I think you're in the minority, but it's okay.

DD and I loved La Nouba and I am glad I spent the money on it, but you're right that there are a thousand great things to do at Disney. Everyone's got a different idea of what makes a great WDW vacation, which is good or we'd all be crowding into the same shows at the same times. :)

Thanks. I KNOW I'm in the minority, because I've read a lot of posts about how much people loved the show. As I said, I did like it, but I'd never go back (well, not never...if I had free tickets :) )

I have not done La Nouba, and probably will not unless someone buys me a ticket.

However, I think Cirque du Soleil is vastly overrated in general.

We went and saw La Nouba on our honeymoon. We LOVED it and would glady go see it again.

I think if people haven't really done Disney World often, there is a lot to see and do before wanting to see other things, like Universal or La Nouba. So if it's someones first time, I wouldn't do La Nouba.

But it also depends on what you, as an individual, enjoy. For example, my Mom would love La Nouba, but my sister would be like, "you spent money on that? Why?" LOL! But this is why I like Disney World so much -- there really is a lot of variety and you can take just about anyone there and find lots of things that person will enjoy. I am glad that the original poster got to go, though, and see it, because that's really the best way to decide if something is right for you. There are things I'm glad I went to or saw once, but yet I wouldn't really care to see them again.

We did La Nouba on January 6 and it was free since my husband's aunt was with us and bought us the tickets as a Christmas gift. I loved it, it was wonderful and neat to do something new while at WDW but I was glad I hadn't spent all that money and if I had I might not have enjoyed it so much. I could see myself sitting there thinking about what else I could have done with that money. The way things worked out, I didn't have to put myself through that. I would highly recommend the show but only to someone who wouldn't have to omit anything else they wanted to do at WDW. Also, as much as I enjoyed it I highly doubt we'll do it again because of the cost.

I'd say I enjoyed 75% of it but I fell asleep during the part with the guy swinging on a scarf and the clowns didn't do anything for me. I LOVED the little Chinese girls and the high-wire part.

We loved it too! I wish they would change it up every few years...to justify the cost!

I gave my family a choice, and 2 of the five of us chose La Nouba and loved it, the other 3 of us chose the Segway tour, and loved that. It's all in what appeals to the individual.

La Nouba is my least favorite of the Cirque shows I've seen to date...I've been to 6 different ones.

You'd think with an arena built just for it , it would be more spectacular.

Plus the night we went, some of the preformers were a little off...both bmx bike guy & the highwire guy fell.

Agreed,

We go to WDW alot too, and finally got around to La Nouba last summer. It was definately not the high point of our trip. I guess I don't like clowns. I liked the acrobats, (guys in red). And the trampoline thing. As for the guy with the ribbons, he was distracting me from watching the amazing women climb and slide down the ribbons, much more physical than the flying. Reminded me of gym class and climbing the rope to the ceiling. I was worried someone was gonna fall. The little chinese kids where great, and the 2 on bikes interesting but some of the stuff went on too long.

The theater is nice, and it was worth checking it out once, but we won't go back but I won't be wondering about it any longer.

The sweetpea and I both loved the show when we saw it. We had wanted to go back this past trip, but our other part of our party didn't feel like spending that kind of money. Can't blame her for that. It is expensive, and to some, its just not worth it. And I agree with you, it is built up a lot and not having it meet what it was built up to be can be a let down. To each his own though. We love it and will go back.

I've seen La Nouba 3 times - and I think it is incredible, and one of the best bargains at Disney. Not cheap, but amazing!

I guess it just depends on what entertains you. It is always disappointing to spend that kind of money on something that you do not enjoy.

My family decided to spend the money on LaNouba for our trip to WDW two years ago. We chose LaNouba based on recommendations from my brother and his family and two people I work with. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed the show very much. I was a little worried because I had seen parts of other Cirque shows on A&E and didn't think it was all that great. But this one was, in all our opinions, very entertaining. I just asked my two boys, now 11 and 14, if they liked it and they responded with, "It was sweet!" They are bummed we will not be seeing it on our upcoming trip in March, but as everyone has pointed out, it is a very expensive show. If money was no object, we'd go again.

We've seen it twice in person, and once on TV, and it was worth it to see it each time! But...I do wish they'd change the show once in a while. While I love La Nouba, I want to see another show now.

Thanks for the specific reminders about the show, because they reminded me why I wasn't blown away.

The ribbons... personally, the CM's doing Tarzan Rocks! at AK were just as good. I too loved the Chinese girls at La Nouba (the best part of the whole thing IMO), but I saw great Chinese acrobats and entertainers at Epcot when walking around the World Showcase. Both of these were included in my ticket price, and I didn't have to pay extra $$$ to see them. That is what I was thinking while watching La Nouba.

No you are not the only one, it was creepy and weird. My DD hated it and now when ever she is bad I put my hands on my hips and say "Do you want me to take you to La Nouba again??" and she shrieks "Nooooooooo, i'll be good" :teeth:
