La Nouba Overrated?

You're definately not alone!

I don't think it was expensive - I've paid more for theater - but I do think it was boring.

I liked the trampoline thing and the girls with their twirly things, but found the rest of it boring. My son fell asleep while the guy was enlessly swinging on those cloth things. I almost did. One sweep was interesting, but after about 20 I thought I'd pass out.

I think La Nouba is more art than entertainment, and as with all art, it moves you or it doesn't.

Thank goodness everyone doesn't have the same tastes; differing tastes makes the world more interesting. :) Dh and I love La Nouba, have seen it twice and will see it again, but that's just us. I have also seen Mystere in Vegas and while I'm glad I went, I did not enjoy it as much as La Nouba.......but that's just me. I think about the hours and hours of practice and training involved, and it amazes me.

I wanted to go on our last trip but then I saw the TV version. I know seeing it on TV is not the same but I was so underwhelmed, I bagged the idea. For the $$ I was expecting to see something spectacular. It really was nothing more than a typical (albeit creepy) circus. Anyway, I still would like to see it some day, but I am not forking over big bucks for it. How do I get a relative to pay for my ticket?? :)

"Different Strokes for Different Folks" - Sly Stone

I thought it was worth every penny, I have seent it twice since it opened.

We thought La Nouba was "ok", but it's probably not something we'd be interested in seeing again. We're just not big fans of circus acts, I guess.

I'm in the group that loved it. The first time DH and I saw it we got our tickets through the old flex plan feature. That was in 2003 for our anniversary. We went again in 2004 with DS, DD, DDbestfriend, MIL, FIL and SIL. It was our christmas present to all of them. I got front row center seats. Everyone loved it. It was great to see the expressions on their faces.

But with any kind of theater show, you will have people that like it and don't like it. And I agree the tickets can be expensive. For me I love going to the theater, and have been to several Broadway shows. So I didn't think it was that expensive, plus got christmas presents out of the way!!!

That's one thing I like about these boards and so far everyone's response. No one condemning this person for not liking it or for the one's that loved it. It's our own opinions that make us who we are. I want to say "thanks from my point of view for no one being mean", I have posted my opinions on other views and have been put down for the way I feel. So this post is very refreshing on how people should act. :flower3:

I'm not in to the whole Cirque de Soliel thing, so we haven't even given it a second thought.

I like my circus the Ringling Bros way.

No you are not the only one, it was creepy and weird. My DD hated it and now when ever she is bad I put my hands on my hips and say "Do you want me to take you to La Nouba again??" and she shrieks "Nooooooooo, i'll be good" :teeth:

Actually, we saw La Nouba in 2004 and really enjoyed it. However, it is not on our "must do" list when we go back this year. I'm glad I saw it, but I don't have a strong need/desire to see it again. I would like to see some of the other Cirque shows.

For other Cirque shows I must recommend O in Las Vegas and Varekai, a traveling show. I saw Varekai over the summer and I liked it a lot more than La Nouba. I thought that La Nouba was pretty cool though.

We went and saw La Nouba on our honeymoon also. We LOVED it and would glady go see it again.

If saving the money is an issue....leave the kids in the room with a video and a few coloring books :clown: (they'll have just as much fun for less than $8.00) and save La Nouba for an adult night out.

We just saw la Nouba on Jan14th(full full house). My DH was blown away...I was a little less enthusiast.

The performers are amazing, I'll agree with that. I think my lack of enthusiasm has more to do with where I was seated. (Cat 2, sec 203)....I would have much preferred being a cat 1. I would have felt more like I was part of the show.

I'll agree that the chinese girls were amazing....

I think you have to see it for yourself to have an actual opinion, I had seen other Cirque shows so I knew what type of show I was gonna see.

If this is your first trip to WDW, I'd say pass. If you are returning, it may be worth a try. I have seen it once and will not be returning. But I am still open to seeing other Cirque shows.
