La Mirada or Placentia

We visit California at least every year, but we usually stay with my Step-daughter. This time we want to stay in a Hotel, and would prefer Marriott's Residence Inn. We want a two bedroom, or Penthouse, and at the time we want to go the Residence Inn in La Mirada, and Placentia have available rooms. So my question is which area is nicer for a week's stay. We will have a car, so I am not worried about distance. Just the area in general.
Thanks in advance for your help. ºoº

I would vote for the Placentia location. It's not too far from the Brea Mall (ringed by the Cheesecake Factory and other interesting restaurants), the Orangethorpe/Harbor area has numerous pretty good fast food places plus the Disney Outlet store (non-Disney but sells Disney park stuff exclusively), and the Fullerton train station area (Spaghetti Factory, Knowlwoods, Hero's across Harbor, Steamers Jazz club, Rutabegorz).

The La Mirada location strikes me as rather industrial but maybe someone can speak for it.

I agree. Distance may not be a factor, but Placentia is nearer the 5 & 91 freeways, so it'd be a lot easier to get around than by staying in La Mirada.
