Hello everyone. Please correct me if I am wrong, but these are two separate restaurants, right? Is one the main restaurant and the other more QS? If they are both completely different, which one do you prefer and why? TIA

They are both TS restaurants. San Angel Inn is the original one inside the Mexico pyramid building. La Hacienda is across the walkway in a building built adjacent to the lagoon. This restaurant only serves dinner.

Next to La Hacienda is the CS restaurant - La Cantina. It has outdoor seating and during the daytime there is additional seating inside of La Hacienda. Thihs might be why you thought La Hacienda was CS.

What purple figment said. :)

I don't care for San Angel at all. Loved La Hacienda for dinner - just don't bother with it for Illuminations viewing. La Cantina also has good QS/CS food.

I thought LaHacienda was pricey, however our food was good. It is not tex-mex, so beware of that. La Cantina is an easy option when you have nothing else planned.

The margaritas at the outside kiosks are a pretty good option most days as well.

We loved La Hacienda for Illuminations viewing. It had been pouring rain that night and it was wonderful to be indoors and still have a wonderful view. We were in the main dining room by the large windows.
We enjoyed dinner at both San Angel and La Hacienda. Check the menus and see what dishes appeal to you most.

My DH and I went to San Angel for lunch last summer and we were totally blown away. We had eaten there a few times in the past and it was just ok. I think they must have revamped their menu or changed chefs or something??? Anyway I had the tortilla soup and tostadas and DH had tostadas and salad (can't remember what kind). Anyway, what made it so good was how FRESH the ingredients were - light crispy corn tortilla, fresh avocado, etc. Nothing was heavy and greasy...delicious.

We've eaten at both within the last 6 months. I would give La Hacienda a slight edge on food quality. Service and ambience would go to San Angel Inn.

Really, the best thing I've eaten at any of the Mexican restaurants at Epcot are the nachos from the Cantina.
