Sorry, thought my last lengthy post got all my questions out of the way. Y'all were extremely helpful - thanks again. Have another:

We're still thinking land/sea package might be best (simplest) for us, except that we'd really like to stay in the concierge level at the Poly. Does anyone know if this upgrade is possible? (I don't mean a "show up and ask" upgrade but paying for it in advance as part of the cruise, of course!). We can book the cruise and stay separately, but I don't know if I have the energy to keep calling to try to get a discount closer to our arrival (discounts are announced on room-only ressies in late summer/early fall for our early Dec. visit, I believe.) DH will NOT pay rack rate and I can understand his refusal. With cruise's booking discount, I won't have as big a problem convincing him to pay a few hundred $ more for CL ...

Anyone know anything about the land/sea package and these kinds of upgrades? If not, is it worth asking? Thanks again!

Yes it is possible. If you booked with a travel agent contact your agent.

If you booked through Disney direclty call them and let them know you wish to add this. They will in turn contact the resort, check availability and pricing, and add it to your reservation.

I was told you could not upgrade to conceirge level on land and sea. It was a DU TA that told me that.

Maybe they've changed it since our first Land/Sea...May of 2002...but we had Poly concierge. And it forever spoiled us for any other concierge!

DFiore1, do you know if that was a specific upgrade to concierge lagoon view or concierge garden view? The reason I ask is that to go from regular garden view to concierge garden view is a little more than $100/night, to go to lagoon view is about $200 more than standard garden view per night. I am really hoping that, for $700 more, you get bumped up to lagoon view! Did you put in a room request? Thanks so much! Glad to hear it's an option!

I had asked about upgrading to concierge at the poly with the land/sea package, but the increased cost per night (over $200 per night more) was more than the difference in the rack rates for the rooms. (I'm sure since the package rooms must be discounted.)

We decided not to do it, although I still think it would be nice. Apparently it can be done, though.

This was to upgrade from a regular garden view room to a garden view concierge.
