KTTW Cards + Magic Band

Has anyone had any trouble being issued KTTW cards in conjunction with magic bands? We arrive for our first stay at our home resort (BLT) on Saturday and am concerned about being able to pull legacy fast passes. With all the uncertainty around DAS and what qualifies and what doesn't I'm worried that with only 3 fastpasses, we won't be getting as much out of our vacation as we used to.

From what has been reported, you can get KTTW cards but they won't work in the FP machines. You need actual paper or plastic (for APs) tickets to use those and those FP machines are being phased out since AK has apparently already done away with them.

AFAIK, this only applies at the POP Century and All Star Resorts.

We were issued KTTW cards just yesterday at SSR without requesting them. They were just in our packet. I don't think you will need to request them at BLT either, they will automatically be there for you.

Yes, you will also get KTTW cards, but unless you have ticket media attached to them, they won't pull fast passes. Before Christmas we were able to use our PAP cards in addition to our magic band passes, but our KTTW cards did not work.

Ours from SSR work just fine to pull paper FP. Only those couple value resorts are locked out of paper FP.

It was a couple weeks ago, but we were able to use any KTTW that NEVER had a park ticket attached to it. I used keys from as far back as 2003 up through this past June - all pulled paper FPs (the keys we got at VGF for the current trip also pulled paper FPs just fine).

We also used our KTTW cards to pull the legacy fp's. What I found was that often the first try just spit it back but if I "insisted" and put it back in again - or tried a different machine then it would work.

We just came back from BWV and also were issued KTTW cards without asking. The cm said they were "back-ups" in case our magic bands stopped working. And although we did pull some paper FP's, what I really liked about the Magic Bands is that I could constantly update and change our FP rides. So we would go in at opening ride a bunch of rides and then I would push our FP times for later in the morning or even the evening when we came back or for even a different park if we hadn't even needed to touch the FP's!! This worked great and was during the crowded Christmas week, so any other time should be a breeze!

We were at BLT in December and KTTW cards were given in packet.

As of now they should still be giving them out unless you are at POP century or the all stars.

But that is going to start changing soon.
