Another thread reported that the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis is now scheduled for early February.

We are planning to visit KSC sometime between 24 and 28 January and a couple of things went through my mind....

Is the shuttle likely to be on the launch pad that far in advance of launch and, if so, will the tours restrict viewing to as far away from the launch site as possible.

It's a few years since we have visited KSC and have never seen the shuttle sitting on the launch pad.

Hi Callum

ATLANTIS is currently on launch pad 39A and scheduled to launch on 7th February. The normal tour will take you to an observation tower from which you will get a reasonable view of the shuttle cost is $38 (plus tax) or there is also a NASA close up tour for an additional 21$ which will take you even closer.

More info can be found on the NASA and KSC websites. Sorry not clever enough to post links but easy to follow.

Don't forget there is also a new ride there simulator type I believe.

If you're interested in space exploration it is a great day out.

Thanks Disneypars

Will definately visit KSC on our next trip and maybe get some good photos of Atlantis.

I read a bit about the new shuttle simulator ride, sounds great :yay:
