Kristin Stewart is awkward!

Honestly, it's clear that she made that post to create drama, rather than to have an honest discussion. It amazes me how many people fell into the trap.

HE, and you know it. You already had this discussion last week or so. :sad2:

You also aren't trying to be a world-famous actress. It seems to me, if you really want to act, you have to realize that interviews and public appearances will come with the job description. You would have to figure out a way to deal with it. She, sadly, doesn't appear to have found a way, though.

She wasn't TRYING to be a world famous actress. Before Twilight she was doing indie movies. Twilight was made by an Indie director.

She was still trying to be an actress professionally. And she is still doing movies like Snow White and the Huntsmen. She could have found herself a nice desk job where she didn't have to deal with the public, but she chose to do movies, instead. And maybe she loves acting. Great. But she could have done community theater and never had to do a public interview.

Doesn't seem to have stopped people from seeing her movies though.

As long as she does her job, who cares what she acts like in interviews? I don't get making the assumption that movie actors have to be a certain way. I only care how well they do their job. Of course in Kristin Stewart's case, I really don't think she does her job all that well, but to be fair I've only seen her in the one Twilight movie (one was enough for me!)

Eh. I suppose I see your point. I don't really care for her acting and I don't think she interviews well, either. And now she's gone and taken on the role of my beautiful Snow White. I could cry...

Yes, like Panic Room, Zathura, Jumper...;) You know I have to argue that if she wasn't trying to be or didn't want to be a world famous actress then she shouldn't have taken on the Twilight movies.

It is odd, right? Why would someone so painfully shy make movies?? I was very shy as a young girl and teenager, the last thing I'd ever imagine myself doing would be to make a movie. It's weird.

I'm starting to think whoever said her issue is drugs may be correct. I've read some of her interviews and she sounds bizarre and disconnected.

Lord, she better not mess it up. I've been looking forward to this movie for awhile because the storyline looks so unique. And well, Chris Hemsworth doesn't hurt either...;)

She certainly would not be the first actor who is shy, many actors and comedians are painfully shy. They are more comfortable playing a character than being themselves. I don't think its weird at all.

I remember seeing Jim Carey interviewed once. He is painfully shy. He was much like you all are describing Kristin Stewart in that he was awkward, did not look the interviewer in the eye, etc. Yet he has been very successful in his career. Just goes to show you the human spirit can overcome all sorts of obstacles. I think it's inspiring.

:thumbsup2. Not to mention $$$. Promoting a movie is supposed to encourage people to see it - and if one of the lead actresses consistently comes across as a big bore people could very well skip it. Which could affect her future paychecks (if she cares).

Doesn't seem to have a affected her future paychecks at all, last I heard Twilight movies have done very well.

Well I think her awkwardness maybe more an issue for the interviewer and people watching than it is for her, maybe she doesn't mind and even with my level of shyness I'm sure I could muster up a few public interviews to get a fraction of her paycheck :lmao: It'd be too bad if it made others uncomfortable while I'm laughing my awkward self all the way to the bank :cool1:

Wasn't she also in "Into the Wild"?

I think so too. She's not very open or comfortable with all the attention she's getting. Thats why ppl find her awkward.

She is the same in movies. She is a terrible actress and is only popular because of the movie franchise she is part of.

I have never seen the Twilight movies and never will but I did see the previews for the Snow White movie and, in my opinion, she looks good. I'll take an awkward and shy actress that isn't good but looks good in minimal clothing over a great actress that can recite Shakespeare and answer questions from talking heads but looks like a meaty disaster.

As far as I'm concerned just dress her in as little as possible and don't give her much dialog. Everyone wins!

I disagree, she is not that attractive.

I am and that poster knows it. It is like a 3rd grader trying to insult you by saying "you are such a girl". It is equally pathetic and amusing.

What are you talking about? You're the one that is posting things just to inflame the thread and now your a victim because people aren't aware of your gender? Whatever.

As to my mistake, I apologize. Given the this forum is mostly women, I default to the female pronoun. Your screen name and avatar supported the theory that you were female, leading to the error.

People all the time erroneously use a feminine pronoun when referring to one of my posts. Generally, I pay no attention to the error and simply move on.

I think that part of the blame needs to be put on Kelly Ripa.

It's fairly well known that Kristin Sewart has a real shyness problem. Ripa should have taken some time to do a better pre-interview so Stewart was a bit more comfortable. While expecting stars to just show up and be 'on' likely works 90% of the time, when it doesn't the interviewer ends up with a bad show. Assuming that the interviewer wants every one of her eps to be good ones, then she has to be willing to do the work necessary to make that happen.

On this, Oprah appears to 'get it', while Ripa does not.

It appears that many people have commented on her terrible interviews so I don't think the pre-interview would do much good.

Some shy people actually start acting as a way to ameliorate their condition.

I saw here in Snow White and thought she was pretty good.

I think she is very attractive/pretty, whatever you want to call it.

I suspect she is shy, IRL. If that's the case, then I would think doing a live interview on national tv would be difficult.

Being shy IRL, is not the same as doing a movie. In a movie you already know your lines...it's just a matter of memorizing them.
