Does Disney still have the Krispey Kreme doughnuts? Many here in our area have closed up. Just wondering...

KK donuts. We have had KK in Florida for as long as I've been here and it is no big deal. Then I went to Redmond WA to visit Microsoft a few years back and at 3am after a late meeting they said "hey let's hit up KK for a dozen". I was shocked that it was open 24/7 and more shocked when I saw the line of cars through the takeout window. Took us almost 45 minutes to get the "KK dozen". The stores were new and the whole area was nuts about them. Nuts with Dough for KK Donuts. I think the dozen was like 10 bucks. Unreal...

I think they are caught up in a rat race always chasing the next big thing.

Maybe they need to take a Disney Cruise and unwind.... Just my humble opinion... apologies to DISers from Redmond...

Yep, we had some on the May 13th cruise a few weeks ago!!! :thumbsup2

We had one around here but it closed recently. The only time they are good are when they are fresh, but after the first day they are blech. The ones on the Disney cruise are frozen and you can SO tell the difference, they are just not up to Krispy Kreme par when they re like that! They could have been just any old donuts once they are a few days old or frozen and thats what they are like on the Disney Cruise.

Just as a bad day at Walt Disney World is better than any day back home, a previously frozen Krispy Kreme is still better than any other donut.

Of course there is nothing like a hot Krispy Kreme donut right off the line at one of their shops. But I happen to really like an almost thawed creme filled donut while enjoying breakfast on the aft deck at Topsiders.

I have a video from our cabin (do not remember the date) of three or four PALLETS full of KK donuts being loaded on the ship. Will try to find it and add a photo later.

I just had my first "fresh" KK recently, and it was the BEST donut I had ever had!! The light was on, so my dh said that we HAD to stop while travelling....After eating one of those warm babies, I understand what the hype was all about!!

Now....the box of KK you can buy at Target.....ummmm....not the same!

karen :)

Yep! We just got off the Wonder yesterday - and they do have Krispy Kreme donuts. (YUM!!)

Krispy Kreme used to advertise that they have 1/3 less fat and calories. (That's because they're 1/3 smaller!)

Our KK (an hour away) recently closed too. Does anyone know why they're closing? Now we'll have to get them when we're in Burbank (near Los Angeles)!

OMG you're kidding me.. I also missed KK donuts on the cruise?!?

My first taste of KK donuts was in Florida during our very first trip to WDW. Then we got some here in my area (in Texas)- and I haven't had any for years (because I quit eating them due to diet- those were too good and I'd go overboard with them!

I had no idea the donuts on the cruise were KK donuts... I didn't eat one the entire time! And I even had ordered some for the kids for room service breakfast and totally didn't eat any of the ones they didn't end up eating some mornings! ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Just curious as Im form the UK

What is special about these donuts? Is it the fillings or the batter?
;)

Im from the UK too, they have a KK in London. They are just lush, light and very moreish!!!

The doughnuts are the only thing not fresh on the ship. They keep them in a fridge all week. I was told on a tour Disney wanted to buy a Krispy Kreme machine to make them fresh but it was to big for the ship.

That's o.k., they are still the best. I am glad to hear that they are still onboard. Hope they are still on the Wonder in 100 days. :thumbsup2

I read that they expanded too fast and over-saturated the market. Plus, by selling to grocery stores, they cut into their own market.

Don't care much for the 'original' but the GLAZED CHOCOLATE CAKE or a CRULLER :thumbsup2
