Good Morning! I am thinking of ADRs this AM.....On our arrival day, I am planning on booking California Grill for dinner/hopeful fireworks view (allthough it will be Hallowwishes that night, I believe due to a MNSSHP)

The second evening I was thinking about doing OHANA...now, the fireworks view is not necessary, (as we are staying CL at the POLY and can watch from the beach/pool/or lounge!)....however, Kona has also piqued my interest for their dinner menu. We are on the basic DDP. Which restaurant do you enjoy most??? which would be fun for my BFF (a first timer)
Thanks for your ideas!

I don't think you can make a bad choice here. They are both great!

I would choose Ohana though! I LOVE it!

Most people seem to love the shrimp and meat. I couldn't get enough of the noodles and salad!!!

We ended up with a window seat during the fireworks...and it was magical. I know that isn't super important to you, but you will still enjoy it!

We didn't like Ohana. We were pretty excited to eat there last August because of reviews, but we left disappointed. We really like Kona though. If the menu looks good to you, I would give it a try. We will be going for lunch this year.

Kona is our favorite place at Disney. Ohana is good, but we love everything about Kona from the food selection, service and the kona cone!:goodvibes

I'm hoping to get reservations for both on our next trip. I love them both for different reasons. It's really about what kind of experience you want. Kona is quieter and has a more diversitied selection of food. Ohana is all you can eat and a very lively environment.

I agree with "It's really about what kind of experience you want."

We really enjoyed 'Ohana. You get more food then you could even eat. They had a nice variety and it was all really good. It was entertaining and our servers were very friendly.

Kona was good as well but we didn't enjoy it as much as 'Ohana. Our waitress at Kona wasn't as friendly. She didn't seem to want to serve us. The place was pretty empty but she disappeared and didn't make herself available to us for a really long time.

I'd go to both again...but for our family 'Ohana was what we were looking for.

For us, O'Hana is a must for dinner and Kona is a must for breakfast.

This is pretty much what I have right now....with two teen boys, I think the atmosphere and meat skewers at OHANA might be right up their alley :)
I guess I'll go with the majority and keep Ohana for the evening meal, and Kona for breakfast.....I sure hope our experience isn't dissapointing as some have reviewed recently......when we went in 2009, it was pretty good, everyone really enjoyed themselves, that's what I am looking for again :)
