My husband and I ate at Ohana on Monday night of this past week. I was ready to be underwhelmed because I am wary of any restaurant that gets too much hype in the Disney internet community. Well, we couldn't have had a better evening, and both of us can't wait to go back someday!
We had a 6:15 ADR and were seated by 6:25 at a quiet table by the window - which was great since we are a couple with no kids. We received great service from Denise. We have been to Fogo de Chao (another "all you can eat meat" establishment) and I was really annoyed by the constant presence of the servers there. At Ohana I felt like they gave us the exact right amount of attention. They were also really nice about bringing us as much of anything that we wanted without hesitating - something I could not say about Fogo de Chao.
The setting was great - definitely request a table by the window - I imagine it would get hot and noisy if you sit too close to the fire. The food was very tasty - we especially loved the shrimp and the steak. The bread pudding was excellent (and I usually don't like restaurant desserts...I'd usually rather just have ice cream...but the bread pudding was fab). Overall I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed the entire evening. The staff was a lot of fun, very friendly, but not too overwhelming. The food far exceeded my expectations, and when I told my husband that the whole experience cost us less than $30 per person (we have Tables in Wonderland) he thought it was a great deal.
Maybe we just got lucky with everything, but we both loved Ohana and won't hesitate to go back or recommend it to friends.
