I'm trying to decide on a lunch ressie between the Kona and LTT. We will be at the MK that day and I have not tried either place. I will have my three kids with me, dd11, ds10, ds4. Opinions are welcome please!:goodvibes

Both places are favorites of our family! You can't go wrong with either. However, with kids I would opt for LTT if you are planning on staying in the park after lunch. If you will be leaving the park for a break after lunch then it doesn't matter which, they are both excellent choices.

i am not a fan of either but for convenience i would stay in the park and go to LTT.
If you want a break away from the park you can monorail over to the poly for Kona.
I do enjoy the sushi at Kona but i believe it's only available at dinner time.

We love LTT. We go every trip. The turkey and dressing at lunch is awesome. My kids like the freedom pasta.

I enjoy both. I would make the decision based on whether or not you felt like leaving the park for a break.

If they like history they might enjoy the atmosphere of LTT since they wear colonial garb.

If they like the tropical setting, then head over to the Polynesian. And if you've never been to that resort, it will give you a chance to look around.

Have fun!

Lunch is excellent at both. I agree with others, decide if leaving the park is a big deal or not, then base your decision on that. Many tasty choices at both.

Thank you for your responses. They both sound great! I will try to figure out our goals for the day and make a decision. Too bad the Kona dosn't serve Sushi for lunch! :goodvibes

Another vote for LTT for Lunch- It's nice and relaxing in there and in Aug you may not want to bother with traveling out of the park for lunch- I personally don't like to waste time waiting and traveling on transprotation, I know Kona is close but still. Enjoy

Looking at the photos of the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is making me hungry! Not that I should go to LTT because of the dessert....right?;)

The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake may be the best dessert in all of WDW. It's definitely top two or three for sure. Overall we've been to LTT for lunch I think five times, only one of those times was it an "off day." Otherwise it's usually VERY good for lunch.

Maybe try LTT for lunch and Kona for dinner, perfect combo. :)

Why not? I make all our ADRs based on the dessert menu first. No kidding, I really do. :rotfl:

I agree with the others. I wouldn't travel to Kona, unless I planned to leave MK for a break anyway. If we plan to stay in the park for the day, we always choose something there for convenience. Since MK restaurants aren't our favorites, it usually wouldn't be our first choice for lunch, but it's better than the time lost & the hassle of traveling, IMO.
