You misunderstood my point, which was that it seems that many of the posters on this thread are lamenting Kona's decision to shake things up a bit; to get away from the blandness.
Hmm, still don't understand "shouldn't be shocked at the dumbing down/blanding down of the menus." It didn't happen.
BTW, the old Kona menu was also quite different from any other restaurant on property. It may have had mahi mahi (which really isn't on many menus at WDW that I can recall) and creme brulee but both were unique preparations.
Creme brulee is on many WDW dessert lists but there are many variations of it and all restaurants offer other choices for people like me who can't stand it. It is a very popular dessert these days. Sort of like pie was 30 years ago.
