I was looking for one last place to eat and someone suggested Kona Cafe. After looking at the menu, it looks really good. Can you please tell me all about it. What you like, dislike and whatever else you could possibly share. I would LOVE to see pictures if you have any.

Thank you!!!! :flower3:

We've enjoyed the food. But there is no 'atmospere' and it is very noisy. That said, it is on our list for our next trip.

Love Kona Cafe for both Breakfast and Dinner. There is nothing that we don't like about this restaurant. When we were last there my DH had the mahi mahi and he absolutely loved it and I had the shrimp and scallops which were also very very good. For dessert I had the chocolate fondue which I highly recommend. Our kids both liked their dinners but they were the typical dinners that you can get at any of the restaurants. I would definately try this one out, it is so worth it.

Kona is great, its my favorite spot for breakfast in WDW. Lunch and dinners are great there as well. As someone already mentioned, there is really isn't much for atmosphere but we still love it.

love Kona for the Tonga toast, haven't done it in years but we will be doing it this year on the DDP, good luck

I got on youtube and found a video of Kona Cafe, and it looks nice to me. I also read a bunch of reviews and most of them were positive. I guess we will give it a try!! :thumbsup2

Loved the Tonga toast and big Kahuna breakfast...

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dinner at Kona. The coconut crusted chicken is very good as is their teriyaki steak. It's a must-do for us every trip!

Love Kona! I know some have said it lacks ambiance or is noisy and crowded, but I never really noticed that. The breakfast is the best! That is where I am having mothers day breakfast this year! Been there twice for lunch, walked up with no ADR and was seated pretty quickly as most people I guess are in the parks at lunch time. I can't wait to get my macadamia nut pancakes and ham!

Island sunset (adult bev) very yummy, but not as good as the pina colava

The best breakfast ever - the Big Kahuna Platter. Those are macadamia-nut-pineapple topped pancakes...oooh, these are worth going all by themselves (but the rest of the platter was dee-lish too)

Anyone have a pic of the chocolate fondue? What does it come with for dipping?

We love breakfast there!

Dinner was eh for me, I liked the bread and the wings but the shrimp lo mein was way too sweet for me.

DH loved the bread and the wings and LOVED his teriyaki steak

Love all the pics and reviews so far, I dining there for the first time for dinner on Mother's Day. Can't Wait :cool1:

Kona Cafe is one of the two table service restaurants at the Polynesian Resort . It is set off to one side on the 2nd floor of the Ceremonial house and is an open space cafe, kind of like a large dinning room. The ceilings are very high (guessing 14 feet) so I think that contributes to the "noise" in the restaurant. You can see the diners from the lobby in the ceremonial house, again open space concept. The decor is casual Hawaian, and it gives off a coffee shop vibe, so from your table, you can see the other diners and the foks milling around on the 2nd floor. Our experience was that of good service and good food. My ds had the terriyaki steak and I had the shrimp/scallop. I has seen pictures of the food from one of the food porn picture sites, so I knew the shrimp/scallop dish was a small portion, which is what I wanted that night. Both dishes were excellent. If you are looking for a lively, casual dinning experience with great food - this would be a good choice! Hope this description was useful!
