Both are really great. At breakfast they have huge pancakes, and the famous Tonga Toast. At dinner I really like the steaks, and the pineapple bread. I would do which ever works into your plans better.
I have eaten both breakfast and dinner there. They both were very good. I did really enjoy breakfast though and would love to have it again. Their pancakes are incredible!
Both are good, but breakfast wins for me. Last time, I got the Tonga Toast, it was good but a little too sweet for my liking. Next time, I'm doing the pineapple-macadamia pancakes. And of course, the Kona pressed coffee.
I choose breakfast over dinner because Kona Cafe is the only place you can get a shrimp omelet. It's not on the menu, but it used to be and they will make one if requested.Dinner is very good as well. You order by menu at breakfast. If you're visiting the Kona, I'd do breakfast rather than lunch or dinner. If you like bananas, try the Tonga Toast.I love the Tonga Toast that is offered at the Kona Cafe for breakfast, haven't experienced the menu for lunch or dinner.

DH and I are fans of the Kona. We were introduced by two friends of ours....adorable retired castmember ladies who are just TOO CUTE. Kona Cafe is one of their favorites.
We try to dine here each trip. I don't remember shrimp omelets....so you have now moved the Kona Cafe back to the top of our list. Yummo!
By the way......we have also found the BouTiki a GREAT gift shop. In the age when everything is the same at all the gift shops.....the Boutiki offers lots to choose from. We hit the "motherload" the last time with a wide variety of H20 products...not just what you find in the rooms.....but new (to us) choices. LemonLust shower gel, MangoPassion lotion and gel....ok, now I think the Poly (Kona Cafe and shopping) is up to ARRIVAL DAY stop!!!
As DH says....."all sidewalks lead to the gift shop".
Why not do both.. If you are going to be there multiple days then try to have breakfast one day and then dinner the next. MMMMM. I would probley go with breakfast over dinner but again it just depends on what you are planning as in your other dinning wants.
