We've eaten at Kona for dinner the past two years, most recently in June. We're heading back in late-May to early-June and plan on visiting again. I just checked the menus on wdwinfo.com and they don't have the steak on there. Does anyone know if it came off? That's a deal breaker for my husband and I would like to know if I need to make a plan B reservation and cancel Kona. Any help is appreciated.

On Allears.net I saw a ribeye steak on the dinner and a teriyaki (sirloin?) on the lunch menu. This is one of my favorite places in WDW. :thumbsup2

I ate there twice about 2 weeks ago and steak is still on the menu. I love Kona and wouldn't miss it!

The official WDW Dining Reservations link for Kona shows a Ginger Crusted Rib Eye and a Teriyaki Style Strip steak.
Enjoy

We ate at Kona Dec 15th and my husband and I got the steaks. He ordered his med rare and me, well done! His came back raw and mine was rare. We sent them back and his came back med rare but burnt and mine came back well done and charred. It was horrid. It was a battle to have them take the meal off the bill. The manager could have cared less about any of it. So disappointed.

We had the teriyaki steak at Kona this past July. Food was just as expected...nothing great, nothing awful. Service was average.

Can I recommend that you consider The Wave? It was our favorite meal (beef tenderloin) of our trip. And the service was top notch. We love the dessert trios also.

Happy Planning!

Oh dear...we were looking forward to our upcoming first visit to Kona. I'm almost certain that my DH and DS will be wanting steak, but the above reviews don't look so promising. :sad2: Can anyone cheer me up?

Wel they're defence was they were training new cooks. Not a good time to be training as far as I am concerned. Good luck :)

We have eaten at Kona 4 years in a row and loved our meal everytime. Great food and friendly service. We are considering eating there twice next trip. Feeling any better?

We had dinner there in Aug and it was one of the best meals of our trip.
I had the Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini - It was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor...the potatoes were amazing... And the Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee is worth the trip alone! ;)

Ate lunch on Christmas Eve at Kona Cafe. There were 5 of us. My husband and I both had the teryaki steak plate lunch, my son the chicken, my daughter a noodle bowl and my mom the fish of the day. All our food arrived hot and cooked as expected. Dessert all around was delicious. Service at Kona (and indeed at all our meals except Prime Time Cafe-- which will get its own post) was good if a bit slow between ordering and getting dessert, but overall no complaints and we enjoyed lunch so much at Kona we wanted to do dinner later in the week but were unable to get an ADR.

Thanks everyone for the update. The Teriyaki Steak is what he loves and I'm just glad he can still get it. The menu must need to be updated on WDWinfo

Kerri, we've tried The Wave before and had a less than stellar experience. I think what I've learned from dining at WDW restaurants is that they are inconsistent. One day good, the next not so much. Maybe we will look at giving it another go in the future.

Use the Disney website for menus, as All Ears frequently wrong.

Just wanted to say that we love Kona too - it's our fav WDW restaurant! We've eaten pretty much everywhere, including most Signatures, and DH says their steak is best.

Happy eating, Tiger :)
