I would feel a lot more respected as a customer if they just had decent non-sale prices. This whole
$90 cotton sheath dress at 40% off with the extra 15% for 3 hours only! annoys me. Just make the dress $45 and be done with it. I don't need the hype to feel special or that I am somehow getting this amazing deal by spending $45 for a dress that is probably worth about $25 all while they collect detailed marketing data about me and my spending habits by only offering specials to cardholders. Crimony.
Will kohl's take back the bra? Probably? Is it tacky? More than probably. But if they take it back, so be it. Right now I should probably go gather up the bathing suits I bought and used this summer for a full refund. Saleswoman, "Can I ask why you're returning these?" Me, "Why yes. I don't look as young and thin as I ought to in them. Please credit my Visa card."
Hmmmm... Interesting....winky face....
Isn't this YOUR post regarding the usage of winky faces for the American Eagle thread back in June?

And people wonder where the mysterious 'restocking' fee was born....
In the interest of kittens and disingenuous posters everywhere... adding a wink at the end of a serious post serves what purpose, exactly? It's like those people who begin their sentences with, "No offense, but...." and end their sentences with something offensive.

Meow! If you dislike Kohl's so much, why shop there?
I like Kohl's just for the various reasons you stated. I would never pay full price for anything -- I know it will eventually go on sale -- if not this week, within the next week or two.
Exactly!

no one says you HAVE to shop there. If you feel that they are disrespecting you with the way they run their sales, then shop someplace that doesn't disrespect your shopping pattern. Problem solved.
Wow! This thread is vicious. To the OP, I personally wouldn't return something I had for 4 years w/ or w/o tags and receipt (I probably wouldn't still have the receipt), but if you're comfortable with it, Go for it!
I worked retail several years ago for a similar type clothing store. We had a fairly liberal return policy too. As long as you had the receipt, you got your $ back. If you didn't have the receipt, you got an in-store credit for the lowest price in the register. If the item wasn't still in the reigster, then it got a little hairy, but basically we had to look up the last known price.
I had a little old man and his DD bring in like 35 items one time. His wife had recently passed away and he found all these clothes in her closet unworn w/ tags and receipts still attached. Some of them were a couple of years old. We refunded him $ for the ones he had receipts for and gave him in-store credit for those that he didn't. He was so grateful.
There are always people that will try to take advantage of the system. The honest, loyal shoppers outweighed the dishonest ones, though.
bolding is mine...
I agree wholeheartedly with you on that statement.
And regarding the little old man situation...
Maybe he had a million $$ stuffed in his mattress at home, but maybe he didn't and was scraping together every last cent he could to pay for his wife's funeral.

Something we'll never know. Sometimes people need to return stuff for reasons unknown to us and really at that point it is between the retailer and the customer.
Who says I shop there? I'm just returning stuff I bought elsewhere for a refund....

A policy is a policy... yes?
That's just it... the sale price IS the full price. Hellooooo. If you want to believe it's the sale price... I'm not stopping you. Such a deal!
Boy for someone who was criticizing the inappropriate use of the winky face, you sure are putting it to good use here.
Your comments are getting ruder every time you post to this thread. You're trying to make it sound like the OP was trying to return a used item (by referring to taking your used swimwear back for a refund because it didn't make you look thin/young) or that OP was trying to return something acquired at another store.
If you don't like or shop at Kohl's why did you even open the thread? Just to come on and try and make trouble?

It appears so.
