Know your Heimlich maneuver.

Last night at the end of dinner, my mom choked. I sat there not being able to move, but thankfully my dad was there and he was able to do the heimlich. At one point, we almost needed to have an ambulance come. I had to call 911, but at the end of the call my mom was ok.

My legs were shaking afterwards and I realized i could have lost my mom.
Thank God she's not dead.

So, I just wanted to advise yall to know the heimlich incase you haven't already and make sure your parents know that you love them :]

Oh, wow. I'm sorry that happened, and I'm really glad that your mom's okay.

Back in March, I was hanging with my friends, when I started choking. Luckily, we were all trained (but not certified) in CPR. My airway wasn't blocked, so they encouraged me to cough.

Anyway, taking a CPR course is a good idea.

I haven't taken any CPR courses, but I do have the general idea on how to do the heimlich, but I wouldn't perform it on anyone unless it was a dire situation (like no phone, no one else knows how to do it)

I've taken a CPR course, so I know what to do... it's just the actual moving my butt in time to accomplish the task and I guess I'm kinda scared to do it.
Even though I'd save someone's life...

I'm sorry that happened..Glad she was okay after though!

I need to learn,my mom alway's tend's to choke on her food or her drink a lot so it would be a good idea to know what to do instead of just looking at her not knowing what to do.

i started choking in primary school and there's everyone around me trying to help while the dinnerladies (don't know what they are in the USA) staring at me like nothings happening. After someone helped me did they come over and offer me some water...

Oh man. I would have been scared to death! Sorry that happened to y'all. Hope she'll be alright.
My class and I took CPR/ Heimlich maneuver courses throughout or health class this past year. Scary stuff.
