Ok, as requested, here are my park shoes.

The first pair are nikes:

These are from Bakers, and saved my butt in Vegas last year:

And these are my new ones I bought in Nordstrom. they're by Merrill. The mesh is awesome. if my feet get wet, they'll just dry off. They're specifically for wet weather and rain walking. (oh, the bottom one is the outside, not the inside fo the shoe....I couldn't get it to lie properly)

I like all three pairs! Gotta find me some of those mesh ones, it will be a nice option to the Keens. I used to have some like your Nikes, but they were Sketchers. Wore them babies OUT. The velcro wouldn't velcro anymore. RIP.

So, I made these:

Of COURSE the shorts are JUST too small on S....of COURSE!! I missed by a freaking inch. GAH!

And the dress sleeves don't fit B too great, and the whole dress only JUST fits, so I'm probably going to have to make it again for her. BUT does that mean she'll take the %$& dress OFF so I can sell it in pristine condition? NOOOOO, Of course NOT.

4 hours of work, down the tubes.

I love the dress! I'd buy it from you but I don't think my 12 yr old would wear it. I'm always amazed at people who can sew things so fast! My form of sewing involves hot glue & staples.

OMGoldfish - those are some shoes!!! Those heels are at least an inch taller than I'll ever wear! Cool on other people, but not for me. Personally, I'm waiting for chunky heels to come back - my brown Aerosoles wore out, and when I went looking for a replacement, I couldn't find anything! Everything is either flat (so my favorite brown trousers would be too long) or stilletos!

Otoh, I like the Nikes - similar to my black Skechers (my one and only shoe pic on my TR, lol). And I have a pair of black leather Merrell sandals that I just love, love, love - I can walk in them all day long, but they still look cute. (Being an architect, I like shoes that I can wear while climbing all over construction sites, if necessary...)

The sketchers ones didn't fit or have the support like my nikes on me. I think I have weird feet, though. The mesh ones are SWEET.

I think it would be WAAAYYYY too small for your 12 year old. B is 4. I am going to try to fix it. I was going to fix it today, but my mouth is killing me (more in later post), and I jsut got a nasty call from S's teacher that I am trying to deal with.

I am one of those freaks who walks just fine in heels. I wear heels that high pretty regularly in the summer. They're not too much fun in the winter with snow and ice. LOL.

the nikes are great, but the white Bakers are my go-to shoes. They're like supportive slippers, they're so comfy. The nikes are a TOUCh on the small side, not too small, but not great when my feet start to swell, either, but the next size up was too big. YKWIM?

So, I got the next set of braces and rubberbands today. AND SPACERS! My mouth hurts so much!

On a good note, the dentist promised my teeth will be straight at the end of this fiasco.

All I know, is my mouth better be at least BETTER before my big B-day dinner next week. If I can't eat my special meal at our #2 choice restaurant because of pain, I am going to go OFF.

Then I got a snotty call from S's teacher. She should be thankful I didn't go off on her.

B wants to keep the Dumbo dress, so I will let her. I am going to try to make it fit a little better without ruining it.

I'm debating when to buy new cargoes. Should I buy them now/soon at my current size, and plan on a belt (or maybe not losing any weight), or wait until right before the trip, so I know they'll fit, but be pushing it for time to find some??

One of the kitties is sick. We woke up today, and he was sleeping in our bed. When we pet him and rubbed him, and MOVED him, he barely reacted. I ended up with an emergency Vet visit. They haven't found anything, but he has to get major testing done, and stay there for the next 24 hours.

Hopefully, he was just REALLY TIRED.

OK. Off to re-make S's shorts. I promised.
