Okay, so no one will end up reading this, but that is okay!

Never done a pre trip or post trip reports before. But since i've been reading a whole bunch of yall's reports, figured I should do my own. Esp. since I have DxDP this year.

So, cast of characters?

Me, 27, single parent of one little girl. Name is Scott. I am allergic to the sun (PMLE), and even sun block doesn't help. I also have other medical problems and tons of anxiety. :confused3 Oh, and I am Transgendered (FtM) and we go in June for Gay Days!

not the best photo, but I promise I will have more!

This was Friday, June 4th 2010, day we arrived at WDW. (This is off-property, at a restaurant we always visit on Friday when down there.)

And yes, that is my DD! She was 4 in that photo, she is now 5 and is suspected to be on the autism spectrum (high functioning/Aspergers?). Have Appt start of may to get a referral for getting a diagnoses. (Though for school purposes she has been label "Significant Developmental Delay"). She does have Sensory Integration Disorder/Sensory Processing Disorder (same thing, different names). Seeker for most things, avoider for just a few.

Here is a more current photo:

Though her birthday is 3/3, This trip is in part her birthday trip. When asked if she wanted gifts for her birthday, or more money to do fun things at Disney, she picked Disney.

In fact, the title of the PTR is something she told me the other day. She is such a riot!

Trip Report!

Ok, so I just left you a PM when I found this.:lmao:

We will also be celebrating my DS birthday when we go at the end of May. His birthday is a few days before we go but I didn't want to pull him out of school. He has already missed so much school because of his CF.:guilty:

It is great that you are doing the DxDP. I can't wait to see you all your ADR's.

Well it's late and I need to get to bed, can't wait to read more and see if any of your plans are the same as ours. Maybe we will see each other around.:thumbsup2

Okay, so I started writing this then thought, well I should tell the the basics first, so we have a split stay, may 31st - june 3rd at ASMu and june 3rd to june 5th at CBR (we will have +2 adults there, friends of mine we meet every time and share a room with for gay days) We have 4 day park tickets with water parks and more. We also have the DxDP for the first part of our stay. (but not the last two days)

So, our trip is mostly planned. We start out on may 30th. I am a 3rd shifter and I will work the night of may 29th to the morning of the 30th. Skye will have school so I will send her off, then start packing our car and nap. I will pick her up after school and we will drive directly from school down to my BIL's house. (Yes, not my sister's house, as I can't drive up to Heaven. Though some days we want to. :) )

This is about 250 mile trip and will take us about 4 to 5 hours. Once there we will not even unpack the car, just take in one small bag, change into the clothes for in the morning (DD travels in airplanes in her PJ's and slippers. makes the whole thing a lot easier and more comfortable for her.) We will then hopefully sleep.

May 31st
Wake up around 5:00am :scared1: and BIL will drive us to the airport (Midway Chicago)
We fly out at 7:55am. Arrive in Orlando: 11:30am. I always fly us non-stop, and once again we get to fly our favorite airline, Southwest! So far I have not had a bad experience with them! *knocks on wood*

Take ME to ASMu. This is where plans get fuzzy because I am not sure if our room will be ready (doubt it), how tired we will be, etc. We may hang around the hotel a little, or we might go to DTD straight away. We do have ADR's for 5:15pm at Planet Hollywood. I am however trying to see if we can switch that for Garden Grill in Epcot, but I doubt it. Either way we will be doing either DTD or Epcot. This is a PM EMH at Epcot.
Everything depends on just how tried we are. we might try to do both a few hours at DTD (Disney quest!) and a few hours in Epcot (we need to get there to see Tink before EMH if tink is still there. Tink is DD's sole char meet she cares about. and Epcot wasn't even on our plans before she told me this.)

June 1st, is an MK day.
we have two ADR's for this day:
2:05pm at Crystal Place were we will try to keep an eye out for some fellow Dis'ers who have the same time slot as us.
7:00pm at Liberty Tree Tavern. I am actually pretty excited about this one as the food is SO up my ally. We are not very adventurous eaters. :confused3

I don't like to plan very much for my trips. In fact, the only reason I have this much planned is because I don't want to end up like last year and go for over 10 hours without eating. :rolleyes1 Thus the DxDP and ADR's. Outside of food our only must do's are:
Main Street Electrical Parade! I remember this from my childhood trip and this is about the ONLY memory I really have. :cloud9:
I know my DD will wanna do splash mt.
I want to also try to get over to Tom sawyer's island if we get up early enough. I wanna look for a paintbrush! However, after a travel day and possible late night, we may sleep in.

June 2ed: DHS
So, our actual main plans isn't DHS but FOOD.
7:40am @ Chef Mickey's
12:50pm @ Hollywood and Vine
(snacks are a must!)
8:25 p.m @ Sci-fi Dine In

Outside of food: Little mermaid and Disney JR are the only attractions we really care about here. chances are we will also spend at least an hour at the honey I shrunk the kids playground.

June 3rd, non-theme park day.. I think.
This is our day to move hotels, and meet up with my two friends L and A. Since i've not talked to them about doing a trip report or not, all you will know is that they are both female and a couple and my friends. :thumbsup2 oh, and FL residents.

At first I was thinking we would mini-golf this day, and do some hotel swiming. However we now have blizzard Beach planned. I am NOT into water parks, but my DD loves water and L&A both enjoy them as well so I will go along. I do plan on us only spending the morning there. (even if just DD and I go off while L&A stay.) I also plan on us switching to Typhoon lagoon just long enough to swim with the fishies. For the afternoon evening we might end up at DTD again, maybe disney quest... or if we didn't do it the first day, going into epcot just long enough to get Tinkerbell.

Foodwise:
O'hana @ 9:50am (all 4 of us, this will be mine and DD's last dining credits used outside of snacks I assume.)
Kobe's off property for dinner. (Tradition!)

Saterday June 4th, Gay day at MK!
BBB for DD at 9:10am
CRT @ 10:05am for breakfast (all four of us.)
PLAY PLAY PLAY!
4:00 PM meet up at Aloha Isle for Dole Whips. (dismeet!)

Sunday, June 5th, sad day! :sad1:
Depends on what we did or didn't manage before now. most likely running around to do odds and ends, disney quest/epcot/pony rides at Ft. wilderness whatever we missed and still want/need to do. Will need to be back at CBR for ME around 2pm or so. Our flight flies out at 5:20pm and we arrive back at midway around 7:10pm. BIL will pick us up, and we will spend the night at his house.

Monday, June 6th
Once we wake we will leave to go back home. (the 4-5 hour drive :scared1: )

We will TOTALLY see each other around! :worship:

and YAY some one read it! :rotfl:

Okay, so I thought to add a few photos from last year's trip, and a few details for contrast with this trip.

Last year we flew out on Friday, and back on Sunday, and was in MK ALL DAY Saturday. and when I say all day, I mean we got in pre-rope drop for CRT at RP time. and we didn't leave until after fireworks. Oh we stayed at All start sports (I just don't feel right abbv. that one.) with L&A.

So a few photos:

Since June 6th is my birthday, and we added it as a celebration, we got this cool minicake! (My DD loved eating the top off of it!)

28120_10150191607745584_663425583_12926884_2775696_n.jpg

See, even if I have not done a trip report, I naturally take the food shots! LOL.

Switched out of the Princess Dress and into fun clothes:

28120_10150191609815584_663425583_12926912_1947908_n.jpg

and I am starting to wonder how many photos I can put in a single post? Time to post and keep with old photos in the next posting!

It was so hot last year, I was sweating so hard I couldn't stand my glasses on. They made me sweat MORE! (They are prescription.) :lmao:

"
On June 5th, 2010, the closest available weather station to Orlando, FL (ORLANDO EXECUTIVE AP, FL), reported the following conditions:
High Temp: 93.9F
Low Temp: 73.9F
Average Temp: 82F
Dewpoint: 73.9F
Wind Speed: 5.2 Knots
Precipitation Amount: 0.04 Inches
Snow Depth: n/a
Observations: n/a "
(on http://www.farmersalmanac.com )

so yeah, that was crazy hot day for me. even our local friends were saying it was hotter than usual. :confused3 I just know we our pre splash mt and post splash mt wet clothes lvl is about the same... ;)

This is us right as it started to move (which is why I am reaching for the camera, to hold onto it before we fly around.)

Donald is one of her favorates, but she just wasn't feeling it at the moment. with 20/20 hindsight, we had not eaten in hours, it was super hot, and that just = bad. If I had any other kid others would have stared due to the meltdown. my kid? Still a doll, making me feel like worlds worse dad now for not figuring it out at the time. :sad2:

This is another thing I feel like such a heel for... I rushed DD through towntoon, to try to get to the meet and greet part. Didn't let her play as much on in the houses and that, as it was already nearly 8:30pm (though the sun was as bright as ever!) and I told her she could play more in Minnie's house next year. Oh how wrong was I! :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

28120_10150191715975584_663425583_12928624_2969552_n.jpg

At least I let her get a little time here, but still, I kinda rushed her, knowing it was getting closer to fireworks time, despite the fact that it looked like high noon.

28120_10150191716385584_663425583_12928640_370316_n.jpg

Did get to see the princesses again...

28120_10150191716660584_663425583_12928651_4916057_n.jpg

and The fairies:

and during the final part of the fireworks is when she passed out:

28120_10150191717285584_663425583_12928676_3340733_n.jpg

Singledad your DD is adorable!Looking forward to reading more,Post as many pics as you want I love them.

so, final day/flyhome day out of the last yrs pics.

we had a towel animal:

28120_10150191722400584_663425583_12928772_5931425_n.jpg

then we took a handful of boats...

28120_10150191722420584_663425583_12928773_4746629_n.jpg

See I made the mistake of just looking for 'wilderness'. I remembered we could do pony rides at 'wilderness'. Little did I know there is a Wilderness Lodge and a Ft. Wilderness. So, to the lodge is where we ended up first. after talking at the desk, and them looking at me like I was from another planet. :yoda: We figured out that I was at the wrong wilderness... took another boat and got to the right one!

28120_10150191722670584_663425583_12928782_7445027_n.jpg

For those who don't know, this is one of the few locations that is cash only. DD got to ride all three ponies (5 Bucks a ride, so 15 bucks for 3 rides).

You actually walk the ponies around the path, which I found a bit strange. and nerve wracking... :guilty: I hate social situations in the first place, but to have to do something I've never done before on top of that, with people around... :scared: But, of course it was just my anxiety troubles acting up, was easy to do, the ponies nearly walked themselves! :woohoo:

28120_10150191722920584_663425583_12928785_138641_n.jpg

I think we came in contact with something she was allergic to at the farm here. maybe the hay, maybe a plant, not the horses as she has been around them before and since and no reactions. But, it was as we left, I noticed her starting to have a red face, this was the boat:

28120_10150191722995584_663425583_12928788_2392821_n.jpg

and by the time we made it off that boat, onto bus, and back to sports, it was an all out allergic reaction, swollen, red and rashy face, arms and trunk. :scared1: Seriously, we had about 30 min left until our ME bus, we didn't have time to go searching everywhere for 4 year old safe Benadryl! So after searching the store at sports, and asking both the person working the store, and the front desk about where they might carry Children's Benadryl... Well, outside of the adult benadryl on the gift shop, they didn't carry any that they know of. So, a call into the Nurse practitioner back at home via cell, I got the okay to give her half the adult dosage. That did the trick.

28120_10150191723300584_663425583_12928801_7475442_n.jpg

Although between running around, and the meds, she passed out on the ME bus:

28120_10150191723360584_663425583_12928804_3403715_n.jpg

Don't worry, I was a good parent and moved her head after taking the photo!
:rotfl:

28120_10150191723340584_663425583_12928803_5691054_n.jpg

oh and some ducks I left out because I was telling about her reaction:

28120_10150191723245584_663425583_12928798_1782611_n.jpg

although, I will say... it bothered me. it bothered me that while I told my daughter repeatedly to leave these ducks alone because they are also hot and tired and need some rest in the shade, that other parents practically pushed their child into them, about 2 min later one pre-teen tried to kicked them before the parents said anything. The ducks fled INTO THE 'road' to get away from the pre-teen. nearly got hit by a bus too. :sad2:

Wow, so people ARE reading this! :scared:
:lmao:

Yeah, my reports will always be photo heavy. I feel photos speak a lot better and clearer than I can. Plus who could resist my little one!? No one, that's WHO! :rotfl:

So yeah, if you see this little girl this year, and she says to you 'I'm very lovey' that is her way of asking if she can hug you. and if she said "can I have your hand?" that is her way of asking if she can kiss the back of your hand. So yall are warned!

So, I figured to let you in on a few things we have done so far to prep for Disney. First off, about 100 days before we go, we attended Disney on ICE!

184895_148343018559120_100001502679473_308308_3375918_n.jpg

now, this was a bit of a surprise for both of us. As a third shifter, and being a home body I often never learn of events until a month or two AFTER they happen. Well, luck would have it I actually looked at the local newspaper and they had 'weekend happenings' that friday edition. saw disney on ice was in Green Bay (about an hour and 15 min or so from us.).

Now normally, we do not have extra money for anything. I make less than 15k a year PRE-taxes. We make our bills, we are clothed and fed and we have fun at home for free. So normally when I see things like this I pass them by. However I did have a little bit extra left from our tax refund (which is how we do disney. it is the 'money I never had'.) and Figured what a GREAT way to start getting DD ready for the trip. Get to see characters... maybe learn a new one or two. So I jumped online to see if I could even get a ticket and I DID, and I could afford it, so I grabbed it! I don't remember the price now, but I was thinking, for disney on ice this is cheap, must not have good seats. Oh well, we will be there and we will have fun and that is what matters.

oh how little did I know!

185624_148343131892442_100001502679473_308312_2923224_n.jpg

We were ON THE ICE. as in the platform they stuck on the ice, in front of the crash boards. :cloud9:

We had an awesome time, I took about 300 photos. (not kidding!) and a few makes DD look like a model.. which she nearly was! (an agency wanted her, but I am bad with new things, and there was some really BIG new things I would have to do and learn... so nope.)

184697_148346268558795_100001502679473_308452_7542171_n.jpg

181692_148347358558686_100001502679473_308504_6988095_n.jpg

I learned she thinks 'aliens' are monsters. and since she is very very scared of monsters... the lilo and stitch part had her asking me many questions and focusing pretty hard on them. Intresting enough, she likes Stitch himself (enough so that we can go to ohana to meet him), just didn't like Dr. Jumba Jookiba or even my favorate: Agent Pleakley.

So, I am a bit nervous about how she may or may not take the stitch ride, so figure we can skip it. :thumbsup2 So, that brings our list of rides we cannot do even higher... but still leaves us with enough to be happy.

Lets see, she doesn't like robots or aliens. So no toy story rides, no stitch... not even hall of pres. and since she doesn't like the dark, no HM and no space mount. (even though she does do roller coasters at Six Flags Great America.) oh and since Pirates is both robotics and dark.. that is super no go.

So back to Disney on Ice. I took many pictures but I always worry about copy right issues, and although they said you could take photos for personal use.. well I'm not posting them here. :confused3

I will say I really like the person who played tinkerbell. She REALLY got her down. She moved so much and so fast, I think I only managed one or two non-blurred photos! :thumbsup2 and this was set up to catch fast movements too! okay okay, Disney don't sue me! I have to share the only picture I managed to get with the least blurr. (and even then her arms/hands are)

181512_149722405087848_100001502679473_317107_1501551_n.jpg

After this, we made a paper chain to count down with. I never got a photo of it. :sad2: but I promise to grab a picture of it now! We started with 97 days, and now are down to 44. :woohoo:

okay, that is enough for now. I am sure I will add more details and photos and such as time goes on. Like the fact I already have two outfits packed, and have started to toss odds and ends into a bag. (like bubbles for in the lines.)

Hi, I'm joining to follow along too :) I love the photos as well. Your daughter is so adorable!

thanks! I told you no one can resist her! This is why I will need to learn how to clean a gun before she hits preteens. :lmao:

Well, i said I would take photos of the countdown chain. I know one side got smooshed at one point, but it still works!

here is the chain laying over the 'tent' part of my daughters loft bed (that she doesn't sleep in. :lmao: )

now, Every 10 days I have something for us to do. since it is so close, I will go ahead and show you what I mean:

for day 40:

207478_10150551672810584_663425583_18208982_6240019_n.jpg

We watch a Disney Movie. (although we are doing that anyway, this is a 'special' day to MAKE SURE we watch one.)

207588_10150551672940584_663425583_18208984_339944_n.jpg

Day 30, we read a Disney book. and yes, all the artwork and writing is mine. Dysgraphia... makes my handwriting look like a child's. thou I guess it has improved a little bit.

206809_10150551673015584_663425583_18208985_1126841_n.jpg

Day 20, Listen to Disney Music. this is both movie music and from the world.

206824_10150551673110584_663425583_18208987_453787_n.jpg

day 10, try on dress. See, I want to double check that one of the two ariel dresses we bought will fit her for the trip. since she grows like a weed, I figure 10 days before hand I should have a fair idea of if it will work or not. and if not, have enough time to find something that will. (Or re-budget to buy one at BBB)

and closer to the end, I have other things, like day 2 I have suitcases on there so we can go over and make sure most things are in the suitcases.

and day 1 is when we drive to IL so...

First aid kit, my ears from last year, a pair of skye's ears (although she says she wants to just buy new ones this year, so her's will not end up packed unless she wants them on the car ride etc.) med. dropper as I plan to bring her Benadryl this time and will need to make sure I can give it to her too... skye's water shoes.. you know odds and ends.

I was thinking you sound like you fit in my family tree also. My Dads side is Scott/Irish/English/ a a bit of German a ways back. Moms side from Finland/Norway/Denmark/Sweden.

Well, my dad is British and French (and Texan :lmao: ), my mom is Native American, German and all around 'we don't know'. The red hair runs on my mother's side, and so we always joke that the Irish peddled more than their wares to the native Americans. Thou the last name we were given on that side is apparently welsh? :confused3 I need to do more research!

opps did I mistype? we have no AK day, just MK. but we do share MK on june 1st!

*goes back to see if he mistyped.*

Goodness, I must have misread your post. Or maybe I was just so excited that I tried to will it.

Will definalty be up to meeting up for MK. Have another DISmeet set up for Cosmic Rays at about noon. Maybe the parade (already PM'd you this.)

Can't wait.:woohoo::woohoo:
