I have rented homes near Disney, but I don't know of any communities near Universal Studios - have any suggestions? I know its plenty of timeshare condos - but I was hoping for something else! Thanks for any suggestions!

Just did a search for "Orlando Vacation Homes" and came up with a whole list of rental companies in Orlando. Try that, and if you still need more sites to go to, let me know. I have the Orlando "Official Accommodations Guide" here and can look up some more for you. A lot seem to advertise as just "within 15 minutes of area attractions", so you might have to email them and find out exactly what they have near US. Happy Hunting!!

Thank you for responding. All the ones I've found are still near Disney, not Universal - I want to stay away from the 192 if at all possible. Since my family appears to be bored with Disney :confused3 (I know - I don't get it either) I don't want to pass Disney daily as I head near US/IOA Sea World, Wet N Wild, etc. - the whole two weeks we will be in Orlando. It would be reminding me where I should be - so you Disney Nuts should understand my need not to see any mouse related activities.

We did US/IOA not Disney last year and we own a home in EMerald Island. The commute is 15-20 min. I don't know of any communities closer. Good luck in your search.

I have used http://www.vrbo.com before. Simply click on Florida, and then Orlando, and see what you come up with. We used this as opposed to staying in a hotel for my brother's wedding in Kauai in October, and it worked out well and saved us tons of money. Good luck!
