Hi I have a 10, 7 and 5 year old and we did choose the Poly for our resort. The pool is a big deal for my kids. They do not know that we are staying at this particular resort. Can anyone tell me anything about the slide. I know it is inside the volcano, but do not know anymore. Is it fast, dark, long, good, OK???? Please let me know. Thanks soooo much! :)

My daughter was five years old when we stayed at the Poly in 2004. She loved the slide and went on it all by herself. You walk up the steps and it's on the backside and then as you get to the top, you're outside and people can see you in line at the top. It's not too long but it is a little dark, but she loved it and was not scared at all. Hope you have a great time!!

We stayed when dd was 8 - she loved it so much, I couldnt get her away from the Poly pool most days!! It closes at 10pm - but the pool is open -

I went down the slide, if memory serves its not really that dark - and maybe just one good turn around...

DD loved to scream at the top of her lungs!! It echos... it drives us parents crazy!!

Great pics! I had been looking for better pictures of the poly slide. Thanks for sharing

Great pics! Does anyone know the depth of the pool where the slide comes out? I'm hoping its the shallow end approx. 3 feet. Thanks!

The water slide is fun for all ages including adults. It does get a litle dark but my kids love it. I have children from 7-14 years old. THe water is pretty shallow where the water slide comes out. It is just an estimate but I would say 3 to 3 1/2 feet.

My older two love it. It freaks me out. I wonder if my 6 yr old will finally give it a try this year?
Enjoy the pool. Our family loves it.

Thanks for the info. DS8 wanted to know as he stays only in the shallow end where he can touch bottom. DD4 doesn't let go of me yet in the pool so I doubt she'll do the slide but the zero entry area will be great for her and DD2 to sit and play. And good for me to so I can sit w/them w/o holding a 45 lb girl. :)

My girls (5 and 6) love the Poly slide!! Although it empties to a pretty shallow area, they still wear their life jackets as it is a strong current by the slide.

I rode the slide at AKL and I am 34 :cutie: It looks smaller than this one...but I guess I figured, while in Disney....

We are also thinking of staying at the Poly...I love the look of the pool but I am a bit disappointed about the size of the pool. But then again, what resort has everything you want?

If I could create my own....I would have the volcano slide at the large pool at AKL. :wizard:

The volcano slide is a little dark but not scary. As far as slides go (my favorite being Summit Plummet @ Blizzard Beach) it's pretty tame. Fast enough to entertain the kids but tame enough for the whole family. It empties out into about 4 feet of water and there is a lifeguard stationed there to watch. There are also two other lifeguards who 'patrol' the pool.

The volcano pool is a bit small but hey, where else can you look directly out from the pool and see Cinderella's Castle? :cloud9:

I can't wait to go back in August!

I know parents can't go down the slide w/the kids but can they be waiting at the bottom off to the side a little. I am a nervous wreck around pools well any body of water w/my kids - eventhough I love the water and actually taught swimming for a few years.

I don't want to be in the way but I need to be there if DS8 needs help. I know there are lifeguards but I think my reaction time would be much quicker especially knowing my child's swimming skills. Thanks for any info.
