We are going back to DL Dec. 17-23. We had thought about going to Knott's Berry Sun. Dec. 18. I noticed on their website they're doing a toy for tots day. My question is does this make the park so crowded it's unbearable? And can you bring a toy for each family member and get a free ticket for each person? Anyone done this before? TIA

I've never been there on that Toys for Tots day, but I've seen it on the news. Very, very crowded!! Anytime Knott's does a free day like that, they get tons of people, especially teenagers. They once did a promotion to get in for 5 cents and there were so many people, it was gridlock in the entire area. What a huge problem! Toys for Tots is not as bad as that one, but it's still extra crowded. If it were me, I'd wait and pay the money on a full-price day, just so I could have some hope of getting on rides.

We usually go every year for Toys for Tots--they usually do it for more than 1 weekend. Last year it rained the day we went and they closed the park before noon and gave everyone free passes to come back. It is crowded, but I didn't think it was unbearably so. Sunday is probably a better day, get there as soon as they open and go on the more popular rides first. The toy has to be worth more than $10 so I go to Kaybee or Toys Unlimited and get something that has been marked down. And, yes, it's one gift for each person in your party.

We go every year for the past 6 six except last year when we were on the Disney Magic. It gets VERY, VERY crowded. Unbearable at times but free.

We just got back and spent one day-Wed. at Knotts. It was dead!!!! We literally walked onto rides and some they let us stay on and rida again because there was no one in line. One on the workers told my DH that the weekdays are dead but the weekends are very busy, you turn around and mass people, esp. when they have special events.
