Picture is missing

Where are the pictures?
I hope they weren't removed:confused:

How are you seeing the picture!!! I want to make a comment because it seems this op is getting ripped to shreds for an innocent accident which in my opinion makes it very intimidating to go on these boards in the future. But again, I can not see the picture. What am I doing wrong?

Hi I removed the picture, since It was not my Kids picture, when the thread took a hatefull turn. If it was my kids picture I would have not removed it since really he did nothing wrong, It was an accident and they do happend. However his parents might get upset at me for posting it.

in all fairness, you have to acknowledge that taking a schadenfreudean (?) photo was a bit much. when your kid does knock someone over, intentionally or not, the response should be to make sure the individual isn't hurt, not to seize it as a kodak moment for the enjoyment of those lurking the internet.

yes, of course the CM would be upset. someone was potentially injured (not likely and I'm not going to jump on that bandwagon) but service had to be interrupted and someone is snapping away photos of something they're quite aware wouldn't be part of any Disney press release.

Well said. :thumbsup2

Maybe Bradk, However this was Christmas time, the line had been an hour long, the Kids mother was picking up the kids, the cast member said no further help was required and Mickey was goofing around on the floor with the other kid, the other people in room were enjoing the moment. The cast member was upset, I never said I blamed him for that, I understand someone could have gotten hurt, Mickey or one of the Kids, luckily no one did. So I took the picture.

i wishI had seen the pic, I do NOT think anything was done on purpose...yes you are right some people are just mean and hateful. It is a CHILD...really do you think a four yr old child is going to say " huumm I am going to knock over mickey!" The kid was happy...unless the kid is the omen I think people are just being waaaay over the top.

When my ds was 4 we went to wdw and while in MK we saw tigger, well tigger was bent down and my son ran up like kids do and they went tubbling over, no one got mad or ran over...tigger proceeded to roll around with him like he was wrestling...I GOT GREAT PICTURES. I am sure it happens all the time. If anyone wants to say he WAS out of control...OH WELL ..I really do not care my son had a blast and the pictures show it all...and when they got up tigger posed for another photo...

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry so many people have been so...ummm, snarky? to you regarding your post. I did not see the picture, but your first post made me chuckle. I don't believe that you did anything wrong - or that your nephew did anything wrong. Children get excited and act impulsively - that's one of the perks of childhood!:thumbsup2

When the Character Connection was first open in Epcot a couple of yrs ago, we were the first there one day and Mickey came running/jogging over to my ds and Mickey knocked my ds down - fluky accident. Ds started to cry (he was about 4 at the time), he wasn't hurt or anything, just a little kid's cry. Well after the incident, this is the awesome photo I got because all the characters were trying to cheer him up:

Accidents can and do happen regardless of how good someones parenting skills are. When my DS was 18 months old we went to see Pooh. Pooh knelt down on one knee and opened his arms to my DS. My DH & I stood back to take pictures of the entire interaction and get some candid shots. My DS got excited, ran up to Pooh and Pooh fell onto his Poohlishis rump. He grabbed my DS as he went down onto his rump and then pulled my DS onto his belly and laid back. He proceeded to roll back and forth with my DS laying on his Pooh belly. Yes I took pictures of the entire thing and got pictures of my DS laying on Pooh's belly as well as DS sitting on the floor with Pooh.

DS had seen other characters prior to Pooh and had never run up towards another character before, not even Mickey got this reaction. We were not expecting DS to run up to Pooh the way he did, had it been Rolie Polie Olie we would have expected it and would have restrained him from doing so, but Pooh... we had no clue he'd be so excited. After that character interaction one of us, either DH or I, would hold DS's hand going up to the character while the other parent would take pictures.

Now tripping a character during a parade..... that is something different. My kids know that they don't get their tushes off the sidewalk during a parade.

well I didn't get to see the picture & for some reason the OP deleted a bit of her/his post as well but while I can see that maybe the kid was exhuberant & knocked Mickey down, there was no reason to take the picture - it was an accident, not something that was funny or deserving of a picture. The character could have been hurt - there was no way of knowing.

Late to this thread and didn't see original pictures.

However, I have a feeling this picture might be similiar

The story behind this picture is different though as Pluto is the one that grabbed my DS and fell back to the floor. Pluto had been crawling all around and stealing peoples shoes under the tables and everything. But of course I had the camera out and captured the moment.

After all the playing we took a serious photo as well and I think the huge smile on DS sums up how the felt about the entire thing.

Have you seen the news of the 5 year old in New York who set the house on fire (after telling his friend he would) because grandma wouldn't let him go out? And it's not the first time the kid has threatened to kill grandma either.
I'm NOT saying OP's nephew is anything like this other kid, just mentioning something I saw on the news recently.

FWIW, I do not believe there was any malicious intent on the part of this child. I have seen many instances of excitable children, waiting oh so patiently in a long line and they sort of explode when they finally get to the front of the line. I've also seen characters, who I believe play a little too rough themselves, and egg the kids on a little too much, so what comes around goes around!

Ok Ok I saw the pic yesterday & thought it was hilarious. But I too have a problem w/ people falling-I just can't control myself & burst into hysterics...:lmao: Of course after I realize they are not hurt.:goodvibes
I would, like another had said, be totally mortified if it was one of my children. But all in all I just think some kids are just so thrilled to be able to see these characters they have been watching on tv & in the movies probably most of their life.
I doubt it was intentional but I do think they were just unable to control their excitement - I know no one would want a CM to get hurt -after all they work for our entertainment. We go on vacation & we enjoy seeing them as much as the children do-or at least I do.:yay:

The only thing I deleted from the original post was the picture, nothing else.

Thank you, I have over 600 post and have never had any before result in debate, I guess there is a first time for everything, I am just sorry it involved a dear family member.

Without having seen the picture the op sounds like a sane and reasonable person and the whole incident sounds like an innocent accident! There was no harm done and it was a 4 year old child excited at Disney World! I can not believe how far these posts can go! Misshaps happen, even in the magical world of Disney! She was there and knows exactly how it went down, picture or no picture. ANYTHING can be misconstrued to look BAD! I believe she stated she already knew the Charactor actor was alright before she took it. The same people who are ripping at her are probably the same people who laugh their heads off at Americas funniest home videos (people falling, people getting hit in the you know whats, etc.). I guess you really have to sanitize everything you post on these boards or risk this kind of response!

The focus has gone to the Mickey photo here, but that's not what raised my suspicions. Remember, there were two separate sets of photos of two separate incidents at different times with different characters. One I could buy, but all of a sudden the same kid is tripping Goofy and smirking about that too? Once could be an accident, but when it happens again methinks he knows exactly what he is doing.

I agree:thumbsup2 And everyone knows that once a child gets a laugh and attention(and even pictures:scared1: ), they will continue to do it. It should be a learning situation and not a photo shoot. JMHO, of course but I would not have found it in the least bit funny, whether it was a stranger's child or mine:scared1:

Hold on, the Goofy incident was first (2 days earlier), he just tripped did not fall, and it was his fault since he went into the crowd and started playing with the kids.

On the other hand you may be right and the kid might be the antichrist, since his parents are Christian folks I would have them set up the exorcism.

This horse has arrived in heaven. The equine flogging is complete.

Thanks,
