Anyone ever had a really great pet sitter that will stay over in your house?
I have an elderly ..kind of senile kitty....and going away soon with no great plans for her!
My usual go-to's are not working out...

A thought someone may have a recommendation?

Whereabouts do you live? I pet sit myself depending on timing (I have references), or might be able to help you find someone if the timing doesn't work. I'm in Calgary, AB.

Bless your heart...I should have said, I'm in Ontario ( Oakville ) little far!!

I would ask your vet for a recommendation, or ask friends/neighbours. We have a very elderly cat (18 y.o. and on kidney meds) and I pay a former vet tech $20 per visit (2 x a day) for a 30 min visit, food, meds and litter cleaning. Worth every penny for peace of mind.

I have ...no luck. He suggested her staying there but she will be lonely ...very very.
I know a lady who will come twice a day, not enough.

Sad little granny kitty

I would not leave my old kitty at the vet's either. Hope you find someone suitable soon, pets are members of the family!

when we used to have an older cat we used to leave her at the vet we we went away for an extended time but at the same time she wasn't the friendliest cat to many people either.

What about having a neighbor come over or take it o one of there house if it's more convenient.

It's funny....I'm the one on the street who takes care of everyone's pets..I'm walking a neighbours puppy every day for the past 3 months ..but I'm not warm and fuzzy about any of them..and again, it would be a visit or 2 a day and I think she would sink into despair.usually my sister comes and stays but she's away too this time!
A dilemma..indeed.

Awww... She sounds like a very sweet cat. I actually went to school around there, and still have a few animal-loving friends in the area. I'll ask around and see if I can find someone!

Otherwise, you could try asking at rescue foundations if any of their volunteers pet sit. I volunteer with a cat rescue in Calgary, and a lot of the other volunteers pet sit as well.

Good idea! I'll do that. Thank you!!

Care.com has a pet sitting section. At our old house we found a teenager who was happy to sit and keep our cat company...time away from parents with free wi-fi :)

There is a place called cat castle hotel in Oakville....I thought about it for my kitty. My usual cat sitters are coming on vacation with us this time LOL....but I was able to get another family member to come in daily to watch her, which was my preference as our cat is blind and boarding seemed like it would stress her out.

good luck
