Last week, we booked a studio at SSR for some family that decided to join us for our trip in a week. We're heading to Target the night before their arrival to pick up some groceries. I know there's a toaster, coffee pot, fridge, and microwave in the studios. What other kitchen items will they have? Should I pick up packs of paper plates, bowls, and cups for breakfast?

TIA :goodvibes

paper plates & bowl and ceramic cups are provided. They will need basket-type coffee filters and coffee, salt & pepper (if they use it). The studio should have a can opener and corkscrew, wine glasses can be requested from housekeeping. Paper towels are provided, as is dishwashing liquid.

Thanks so much!

I've typically only received one set (for 4)of the paper plates and bowls and plasticware, so you probably will want more..

I have also requested a blender when staying in a studio and have always gotten it (BCV and BWV). I also take a package of paper plates as we zip through the supply quickly. I also pack a small knife in my checked suitcase as there are no sharp knives in a studio -- I guess you could request one, but haven't seen that posted before. It's really hard to cut the limes with a plastic knife!!!:thumbsup2

I'll second bringing your own knife. I bring one and a set of silverware per person for the 3 of us and we've never been happier. Our next trip will hopefully be in a 1br unit so we won't have the paper plate issue - some housekeepers will leave exactly 4 plates, others will leave a decent sized batch, there's just no telling so I tend to bring extra.

I was told you can always ask for me, at no extra cost.

 Where is that tag fairy when you need her?

About that fridge....does it have a freezer, or is it just one of those "cubbies" that are made to hold an ice cube tray near the top of the fridge? I'm debating bringing a reusable icepack for my back (nerve issues), but it only makes obvious sense if I can get it frozen once there. (This trip is BLT, but it's nice to know about SSR as well since it's our "home".)

Just about all DVC studios seem to have the fridge with a small freezer at the top. For size comparison, it will hold a 16 pack box of eggos, providing you remove then from the box first.

The only units I've heard of that may or may not have the freezer are the value studios over at AKV.
