While eating at Beaches and Cream a few weeks ago,CM that waited on us said the fastest anyone has done one of those monsters is 28minutes. Solo! We were going to try to split one between 5 of us.(3 of us tried before but failed and was sick for hours.LOL) After burgers,
we went for the small stuff. The CM also said a guy ate one solo the day before after eating a double cheesburger, fries and coke. Wow.
Oh yea. They do make a mean strawberry shortcake.:)

I didn't know this really existed?!!?!? The first time we heard about it was on a recent episode of Great Hotels on the Travel Channel- we thought it was a joke, a publicity stunt for the restautant and show BUT NO!!! I just saw it on the menu!! I can't believe it! I looks like it could feed a classroom full of kids!! That's just too much ice cream!!

I love it! I want to try it sometime! hee hee!

I can't believe it! I looks like it could feed a classroom full of kids!!

Eight scoops of icecream (It's not the ice cream that gets you!)..and a lot of cake, whip cream, cherrie's etc. My 7 year old grandson did a good job of it, with some help form us, on the cherrie's, and candies. Here he is below, just as it arrived. It's on top of a brown tray, to catch the sloppy spills as it melts.

I'd skip the ice cream on go straight to the cake!

In Dec. when we were there it was $20.99 I think or maybe $21.99.

When we were there a CM told us that a Greman man ate the whole thing is less than 30 minutes and that they let him have it for free.

Ice cream headache!!!!;)

The strawberry shortcake looks huge too.... or does all that whipped cream on top make it appear larger than it really is? :)

Our family wants to get this when we are there in March. I have a couple questions:

1. Can you ask for extra 'bowls and spoons' so we can dip out what we want into our own bowls?

2. Will CM take a 'family pictures' of us with our Kitchen Sink! That would make a great keepsake!

We are planning to get it the day we check in (we won't be going to the park that day), and I plan to skip lunch so that I am ready for it! Don't know about the rest of my family. We saw it on Great Hotels too and we all decided we wanted to give it a try!

:p

They will give you extra bowls and spoons, but everything starts to melt together pretty quick.

They will be more than happy to take your picture.

The problem is not "too much ice cream"; it's that you can't even find the ice cream! ;) They put so much gunk on it.

Its very much entertainment/publicity rather than just food. It's fun to order, because they make a real ceremony out of it, dimming the lights and announcing it over the PA system.

Ahhhhh, YES!

I think I may go for the record. I am NOT exaggerating when I say that I can eat 1/2 gallon of ice cream in less than 30 minutes. If I am in the ice cream mood......look out I will be there.

I'll be there with the camera.:) Speaking of Ice Cream, Did anyone see the battle of the buffets from Vegas on the Travel Channel? The ice cream they had to eat in the final didn't come close to a Kitchen Sink.:)

We are going to WDW next week and we are going to give the Kitchen Sink a try, we are 5!:bounce: :bounce:

I plan to be at Beaches and Cream Friday, Jan 24 hopefully at 9:30pm for dinner and there should be at least one Kitchen sink at our table. Those who will be there will be wearing the pin you see in my sig. If you spot us..be sure to say hey!

Is the whipped cream real dairy whipped cream or the artificial stuff? I can't bring myself to eat what's in the KoKo Puffs at the Polybut unfortunately I have a weakness for the real thing. Susan

It is the real whipped cream. Just to let you know, the stuff inside Koko Puffs, isn't artifical cream, it's pastry cream, which is also real, but made a different way. It's actually cooked and contains egg yolks. It's more custard-like, but fluffy like regular whipped cream. Whipped cream is just cream and sugar whipped together.

Hi jel0511-
We always stay at the Poly and after the rave reviews on these boards, I finally tried the KoKo puffs on our last visit. I used to cater and these tasted nothing like the slow cooked pastry cream that I used to make on a double boiler for traditional cream puffs. The filling in the KoKos seemed more like kid's birthday cake. The chef who was working behind the counter told me that it was a non-dairy product with some additive. I didn't ask the main chef but the one who stands behind the little dessert display area. I certainly have been wrong before but I just didn't think these tasted like homemade cream. Any other opinions? I know this dessert is a near and dear............ Threehearts

See, that's interesting to me, since I also asked the chef what was in them and she comfirmed to me that is was pastry cream, which was then lightened with another cream, and them whipped. I wanted to know so I could try to make it at home. I guess we'll never know.....

Actually Lori, I think the recipe for the KoKo Puffs was given out before and it did state in the recipe that it was a genuine cream mixture. It also could be that the night I was there was not their very best dessert night or it could have been all the wine I was drinking...LOL! Susan
