Do you let your spose or SO smooch when they are sick? Dh looked at me like I was crazy when I give him the cheek when he went in for the smooch today. He's sneezing and hacking all over. I swear he purposely kissed me on the lips when I was asleep, too!

Nope, no kissing here when we are sick. Maybe a smooch on the top of the head or a cheek, but that's it

Nope. That's one way illness run through houses. Heck, when someone is really sick or has a bad cold, they are sent to the guest room. We can't afford time off and try to avoid it whenever possible.

No way. Why on earth would you want to share germs and potentially get your loved one sick????

No way....at least he didn't do what my boyfriend does when I try to kiss him on the cheek (just because I feel like it sometimes) and turn his head at the last minute.

Ewwwww no way! Sickie's go to the guest room! You are banished in our home if you're sick! LOL!

Yes DH avoided kissing us (DD and I) when we were sick. I of course got the swine flu from DD since she insisted she needed to cuddle.

NOPE!!!! my DBF doesn't even get the cheek he gets nothing...I do not want to sick

They say "don't touch your eyes or your nose" to try and avoid getting sick.

They never mention kissing, so I'm not sure flu/cold type germs enter through the mouth.

But, it's better to be "safe than sorry" in my book so there is no kissing on the lips when any of us are sick. It's the cheek or nothing.

Not a chance! Not one of us wants to be sick.

No kisses, no co-sleeping, we even send the sickie to one bathroom and the rest of us use the other. If you are sick in this house, you are isolated.

Thank you! I am sure when I tell him lots of people I don't know feel the same way! Then he'll think I am crazy on another level! Anyway, nobody wants to be sick and moms, especially, can't afford to be sick!

Not enter through the mouth? That's why they tell you to wash hands an extra time prior to eating as you can easily deliver the virus via your food to your mouth. Give em a cheek to plant their germs and it goes right into your eye. Better they blow kisses from 30 ft. Why chance it?

DH is really sick right now so I am keeping my distance. He is ok with it since I'm pregnant and he doesn't want to get me or the baby sick. The doctor sent him away on Thursday saying it was his asthma. Now he's way worse and has to go in for bloodwork today and back to the dr. tomorrow. I hope he feels better soon!!!! I miss my kisses :goodvibes

I guess I'm in the minority- I will let DFiance kiss me if he's sick.

We have a teeny tiny little house and sadly no extra rooms to quarantine sickie's in. Also, since our house is so small, I figure the germs are already there, I'm bound to get sick anyways so I might as well enjoy a little smooch!

Also, I'm an elementary school teacher. I simply can't be a germaphobe.

I think along the same lines. I figure it's inevitable that everyone in our house is going to be exposed to whatever germs someone else has, so we don't bother trying to prevent it.

did anybody see paula dean on kathie lee gifford's show (Today show i think??) at about 12:30 or so today (monday)?
paula, her husband, kathie lee, and hoda kotb were demonstrating baking hams for the holidays. i guess paula coughed on her hand, said it was only sinus drainage on her hands, and continued with the ham. kathie lee freaked!!! she left the screen and washed her hands. then told paula to go wash her hands. paula just blew her off. it was funny because everybody else just went about the show, but even if you couldn't actually see kathie lee, you could hear her talking about paula, and the cough!!!!!!! :lmao:
