KINO sandal lovers (buyers), NEED HELP!

When we were in Key West a few weeks ago we did go to the Kino sandal store and it was so crowded, we could not get any service. I did manage to get a feel of that great soft leather and snapped up a brochure/order form.
I am going to order a few pair, problem is, I wear a straight 8.5. No half sizes available, so, question is, do they run small, true to size or large. 9s are generally too large and 8s too tight. I'm leaning toward an 8 because the leather was sooooo soft, I think If I get a 9 it may get too sloppy.

Can anyone who has purchased KINOS help?

I wear a 5 1/2 and bought a 6 and they fit perfectly! I'm from KW originally, so ALWAYS buy Kino's when I'm in town. They hold up great!!!
