We are headed there NEXT weekend. Any insider tips? What rides to hit first? Good places to eat?

We're staying at the Kings Island Resort. Should we use the shuttle? or drive our car? Do you think the outdoor pools will be open yet?

Where should we eat on Friday night?

And...we're headed to the Newport Aquarium as well. Any tips?

Anything else we should know????

Thanks...........

The lines for the coasters get long fast! Like that's a suprise. ;) Make sure you ride the Beast. We usually just drive down for the day so I don't know about the hotels.

The Newport Aquarium is pretty cool. We went last spring break and spent the day there. I wish we would have had a little more time to explore the riverfront area where the aquarium is. There are quite a few stores, an Imax theater, and restaurants. The food court is half way through the exhibit and the food was ok.

Have a great time!

I would recommend riding Son of Beast, Beast first...their lines can get pretty long...Also the indoor roller coaster gets long lines(can't think of the name), The Beast is VERY GOOD to ride at night if possible...
I always try to be one of the last riders on it...It seems to be going faster when it is dark and colder...

The Cincinnati Zoo is nice...
No real advice on the aquarium, since I usually go during the week..Hopefully the crowds won't be too bad for you...

As for places to eat..
LaRosa's is a popular pizza place
Gold Star, & Skyline are popular places to get cheese conies..
These are fairly cheap places to eat....
Don't have any advice on 'Fancy' places to eat...

If you have time, the Krohn Conservatory is nice(flowers) and Eden Park is near there, which overlooks the river and you got a good view of KY...

Can't think of anything else right now...
Want to ask me any questions, feel free to pm me...:)

I also recommend The Beast. This was the first coaster I ever rode back in 1985 & it is still my favorite of any coaster anywhere. Unfortunately, I haven't been there since Son of Beast was built but hope to make it there someday to ride that as well.

I was there yesterday and last Sunday, It hasn't been really busy either day. The new ride delirium is a very neat ride. not a scary as it looks and my favorite is tomb raider. .
As for the resort, we stayed there about 3 years ago, and i didn't like the resort. it was run down. we did you the shuttle which wasn't bad. parking is 9.00 so i would use the shuttle.instead of driving there. we are at Kings island alot we have season passes
I haven't been to the newport aquarium but plan to this summer.
If you like ribs try the Wings diner in rivertown at kings island it has montgomery ribs and rotisserie chicken and really good food.
Have fun!! i'll will most likely be there again with my family next weekend. we just love the coasters.

Thank you all! We'll head to the Beast first I think.

mrsmom-The KI Resort website says they rehab'd the place in 2000/2001 so I hope it is nice. We'll be in the park on Saturday!

Any more suggestions or comments?

Shep-Pm on the way.
