I got the first two for my grandson for Christmas. He is 8 (turning nine soon) and still "believes". He reads above grade level so these books are the right level but is there anything in them that would spoil the magic for him--i.e. talk about people portraying characters, utilidors, etc? He understands the technology used at the parks but he is waffling on the big SC for Christmas and probably on MM too but I think he still wants to believe.

So is there anything that might spoil the magic?

Thanks for your advice/response.

I don't think so ... the "Evil" characters in the books are, indeed, the bad guys (literally magical) and the "behind the scenes" scenes are actually pretty cool and gives the readers some insight into areas they wouldn't be able to see otherwise. (Interestingly enough, I found myself looking for pieces of the book that I'd otherwise missed in the parks.)

I liked the second book better than the first -- the characters were better developed. I think the characters in the books in the second book don some costumes to be able to move around better in, say, AK.
