Kindle users, any problems w/ book downloads missing text?

A friend bought a Kindle a few weeks ago (after told her of the praise of all the users ). She downloaded a few books she'd read before. As she's reading them, she's noticing that they are missing sections.

I told her to call Amazon, but she hasn't had time yet. Anyone else notice this?

I have my Kindle since the beginning of July, so far I have downloaded about 30 books and I have never had that happen. Once I had an entire book download, but for some reason when I selected it the book opened a couple of chapters into the book and I had to choose to go back to the beginning.
