Kindle Fire HD or Nexus 7, for me:)

So we are getting tablets for Christmas. We have bought DD 12 a Kindle Fire HD, and DH a Google Nexus 32gb. Now for me, I don't know which to get. DH will definitely use his for work, as well as pleasure. I would primarily be using mine for entertainment purposes. There is a price difference of nearly $100, so I am leaning toward the Kindle Fire HD, but thought I would get some opinions from here

It really depends on the primary use of the tablet, but all things being equal the nexus 7 has better hardware and vanilla android which is beautiful. With 4.2 you can set up users so multiple people can use the same tablet and keep their own settings.

I have a rooted viewsonic tab, an ipad 1 an ipad2 and I bought my wife a nexus7. Given the choice, i would pick up the nexus 7 first ( unfortunately I am never given this choice).

The fire hd is a good tablet, but in my opinion the nexus7 surpasses it on every level ( with the exception of speakers). Also the price difference makes me think you are looking at the 16 gb fire vs the 32 nexus 7. With the same amount of ram they are pretty close in price depending on whether you want to pay amazon to not send offers to the unlock screen.

I have the Kindle Fire, my husband has an ipad, which he has never loved and he's asking for the Nexus 7 - so I would say Nexus 7 - I only use my kindle fire for reading.
