Kindle Fire HD - best PROTECTIVE case

Hi everyone - I know I have seen lots of posts about tablets on here...and even some about cases. What I need to know is does anyone have any recommendations for a PROTECTIVE case for the Kindle Fire HD? My oldest son has asked for one for Christmas and I want to make sure I get a really safe case for it. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I received the above named Kindle for Christmas and am finding that the cases are very limited for it It seems that even on the Amazon site - there aren't many to choose from, and I can't find many skins for it either. Could it be because it is "too new" of a product ? I refuse to take it out of the house or even carry it in my purse until it's protected with a cover. Anyone ???

I use a case with a stand and keyboard on my Android tablet, but for my readers I prefer skins as well. The one I got for my 7 year olds Kindle Fire is the GumDrop one. It's pretty darn tough I must say.

They're kind of pricey, but I don't regret the purchase.

DS got a Fire and we got a GumDrop. I love it and don't worry a bit about the Kindle. He's dropped it a few times and so far so good (knocking on wood!)
