Kindle cover advice...

The Kindle I got is "third generation" right? So I take it that the second generation covers won't work perfectly right?
Yes, you definitely want the cover made just for your model. You're getting this to protect your expensive toy, so you want it to fit "just right".
The Oberon covers are beautiful, but you have to appreciate the tooled-leather look, and not everyone does. Also, they are heavier and add a little weight to the Kindle. And they are expensive, compared to the M Edge and Amazon covers.
Yeah, I put them in the category of "lovely things that just aren't me". I think they're very pretty, but I wouldn't buy one myself.
I'm finding that there is way too much glare on the screen. Is this a common problem?
Yes, when I use my light, I do experience a glare. It isn't all that bad -- it certainly doesn't keep me from using the light -- but it is noticeable.

This wasn't with the booklight... it was just with ambient light from my headboard of my bed.

Ibought a really nice cover at Target. It is fake leather and looks like a hard cover book when you put in the kindle. It has lots of padding, and a soft lining so it won't scratch the kindle. It also has a little tab that opens up so you can stand the cover like a picture frame and read without holding it. (great for reading when you are cooking or hands are busy doing something else)
It cost either $14.99 or $19.99, I am not at home so I can't check the receipt, but it is nice.
It has a plastic base that holds the bottom of the kindle and a clip that you hold the top of the kindle so it won't fall out.

I forgot to follow-up on this at the time. This was really very specific to where the light bulb was behind me. I removed that one light bulb, relying on the other three on my side of the headboard, and there is more than enough light to read by, and no significant glare. I do have to be careful, though, not to shift myself in precisely the wrong way to line my Kindle up with one of the remaining light bulbs. If I do, I just tilt the Kindle down a few degrees and all is okay.
