Kim's new and improved life journal!

Still watching Lost? LOL

Of course!!! It's almost over :sad1:

And to be honest with you...YOUR voice (or what I imagine it to sound like) was in my head yesterday morning telling me to GET OUT THERE!! So, thanks!!!:thumbsup2

Well, Kim, I typed a LONG post & it disappeared.

Suffice it to say I'm praying for your Gmom & your family. I'm glad Skylear(sp) is doing so well - answer to many prayers & more being said.

Your kids are adorable!

Have a good rest of the week!

Mornin' McBean!!
Just checking in real quick this morning.
Hope g-mom is doing better today. Still sending prayers & pd. Glad you got to see Skylar....good to hear she's doing so well.
Great job on the running!! Keep it up girl!

Hi Kim
Glad skylear is doing well - any chance of posting a pic??
Hope gmom is doing ok too.
Well done for getting an awesome run in & being a positive role model to your kids ;)

Hey guys. Thanks for stopping by!

Julie - don't you hate it when you type up long posts, only for them to not work? :headache: Thanks for posting!!:goodvibes

Gmom started radiation yesterday. My mom went to see her & gmom said it was bad, but that she didn't feel bad at that point. So I guess that's a good start. She'll be getting radiation Mon - Fri for 7-8 weeks. Thanks again for all of your prayers and well wishes.

Tracey - I'll ask Janine if it's ok if I post a pic of Skyelar. I'm sorry I didn't think of it myself!

Today was a good day. I did get up and run this morning. I ran a straight 20 minute, 2 mile run. I haven't run 20 minutes straight since December! :thumbsup2 Those last 5 minutes it took a lot of talking to myself to will myself to finish, but I did. Then I took a 3 mile walk at lunch today (gotta love this beautiful 70 degree weather!:cloud9: ).

So, take that...SCOTT!! I'm getting that mileage counter up if it kills me!! (thanks for the challenge :) )

Getting ready to leave work. DD has a soccer game and then the normal run around the house getting showers, homework, snacks, prep for tomorrow, bed routine. :coffee: - make mine a double.

AWESOME job on the running (and walking too!). Good for you to take some time out of your super busy life, and make sure you do something for yourself. I hope you feel very proud :) :cheer2:

Also, continued good wishes for your gmom. I hope the treatment goes well!

You are doing a great job gettiing your running in, Kim! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Keeping your grand mom and your family in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug: How is she doing?

Have a Happy Mother's Day!:flower3:

((HUGS)) Kim!!!!

I just wanted to reiterate what I said to you earlier in the week...my thoughts are with you and your entire family as your grandma goes through her treatments. She really is amazing...what a year she had. I truly wish her the very best and hopes that she remains as pain free as possible!!!

On to the running....YOU GO GIRL!!!!! :thumbsup2 I'm really sooo proud of you for getting out there twice this week and putting those miles up on the board! I know you can do this. Just stick with it and you'll see that all things are possible. Enjoy the great weather now that it's here :).

I'm sorry I disappeared for so long. It's really nice to be back and I will start keeping up with your journey! I missed you guys.

Nice work!!! Way to go Kim!! 20 min run plus the walk...that's just awesome. I'd better get my butt in gear to keep up with you.

Nice to see you out there putting in the miles..and it's nice to be back on the journals.

BTW...did you notice two new journals today? They look pretty interesting, you might want to check them out ;)

I did! You guys ganging up on me? I know I needed a kick....but now I'm scared!

:rotfl:

I'm so excited. Unfortunately productivity at work might slip a little. :rolleyes1

Not much to report today, guys. Wasn't feeling all that great at work (just TOM) so I went out to eat with a friend who needed a shoulder. (she didn't have to twist my arm too hard  )

Tomorrows plan is to get up & run again, and walk again at lunch. The bean is missing me. I can sense it. Gotta visit the ol' beaner again very soon.

Your run/walk stats for the month are lookin' good, Kim!:cool1: Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Keeping your grand mom in our prayers.... How is she doing?

Hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!

Hey guys. Well, I snoozed one too many times this morning without opening my eyes & looking at the alarm clock. So I didn't get up in time to run (and I was SO mad :headache: ). I walked at lunch, but only 1.5 miles because it was hot & sticky and I wasn't prepared with extra clothes  .

Last night I DID do the ol' bean-a-roo for a while and got in lots of crunches and pushups.

Tomorrow I will be waking up absolutely, positively to run. :thumbsup2

Grandmom is back at the nursing home as of today. I'm not sure that it's a great idea, IMO, but that's what the doctors have decided. The reason I don't like it is because she has to be transported 5 days a week to the hospital for her radiation treatments, which is a big ordeal since she doesn't walk or put any weight on her feet. :sad2: But I guess they know what they're doing.

AND.......the next bit of news......Skyelar is HOME!!! She was released today!!!!:yay: Also, Janine said as soon as she gets some pics of her at home (since she has no tubes now), that she'll send me one to post!! :woohoo: Thanks again, everyone. She truly is a miracle. :cutie:

Lastly........
I was notified today that I have made it through the first review of applicants for my job!!! On to phase two!!! :) Thanks again for the well wishes.

I'm so glad you're through phase 1!! I know the waiting is tough....BELIEVE ME.....I KNOW!!! You'll get it....I have faith!
:yay: :yay: :yay: Skylar's home!!!! Skylar's home!!! That is great news!!! Can't wait to see the pictures of that little angel!!!

Hope g-mom is doing ok. She's in my prayers....I'm sure the doctors know what they're doing.

Hey McBeaner is back!!! Hope you're not too sore!!!
Talk to you soon!!!

marie

Good luck on the run tomorrow morning Kim ;) I know what you mean about being unprepared for the hot runs, I had a bad one today as a result of heat...just drink lots of water and HAVE FUN while you are out there :)

Glad to see the good news about Skyelar....and nice to see phase 1 complete.

And please tell me that Locke didn't die...and what the heck is up with Jacob? Gonna be a whirlwind of a finale I think.

Have a good evening!

Hi, Kim! Sorry I have been MIA here, but life was a bit out of control for a while. I am so happy to see how great you are doing and how diligent you are about getting in your walking & running! How cool! :thumbsup2 So happy to see all the good news in your journal and especially that you are through phase 1 of the applicant review! Did they tell you when you will hear next?

Happy Mothers' Day, Kim! :flower2:

:goodvibes Kim....

I'm very happy to hear about little Skyelar. Such a happy ending to that story. Thanks for letting us know the wonderful news!!!

:woohoo: WTG on the bean. Do you really feel like you get a workout on that? I like that it forces you to stabilize your core when you did the abs. In concept it looks pretty cool. I hope it works for ya'! I'm still trying like heck to get the abs in shape. So hard for us mommy's ;).

:cool1: BIG congrats ((hugs)) on the job application process. Sounds like things really looking good. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it continues to move forward quickly :).

Did you run today? The weather is really really humid :(. Not good for the runs. Just wondering how it went if you were able to get out there. If not...this weekend looks to be a little cooler and less humid!

Have a lovely weekend and...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!

Hey guys!!

I gotta start with this....

And please tell me that Locke didn't die...and what the heck is up with Jacob? Gonna be a whirlwind of a finale I think.

O-M-G!!!! I certainly hope Locke doesn't die. My DH thinks he'll just heal again, like he did when he landed on the island. But we'll see. And as for Jacob.....WHY does the scary, spirit guy have to have the same name as my cute little boy?? Did you see him in the rocking chair?? We had to go back & watch in slow motion to catch it....SCARY!!! (if you missed it & saved it....watch when they show the rocking chair right after he throws Ben backwards against the wall). WHEW, freaky episode!!! :scared:

Oh, and Amy....I'm not sure about Scott....but I am definitely still a reality tv junkie. :upsidedow

Today was good. I did wake up & run. Went 2.18 miles in 26 minutes. 2 minute warmup walk and needed a 3 minute walk break around 1.3 miles. I certainly wasn't dressed right (long pants & long sleeves), even at 6am it was HUMID! I got pretty dizzy and realized I'm gonna have to dress lighter and possibly bring a bottle of water with me. I've never had to drink while running before, EVER. And I'm not sure how my stomach will handle the water bouncing around...but I might have to try it. Anyway, got the run in and then came home & beaned it up.

Amy, to answer your question - I feel like I get an AWESOME ab workout on the bean. I used to do 100 crunches on the floor, and now I can only do maybe 1/2. I definitely wasn't doing something right before.

Thanks again for the positivity regarding my job. Let's hope it all works out. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Mother's Day wishes too. For all of you Mothers here.....

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU!!

Oh, and today is my buddy Jen's college graduation (blueeyes101817). Feel free to stop by her journal & congratulate her!! :woohoo:

Have a great weekend, guys!!

Kim - Was perusing a running website, you know the ones with really thought out hints and tips on having successful runs, eating the right foods, comparing and contrasting hypoglycemic integers and their relative associations with the caffeine induced Power Gels and came across this wise suggestion:

If it's over 60 degrees....DO NOT WEAR LONG SLEEVES OR LONG PANTS. I repeat...when it's hot outside, DO NOT WEAR LONG SLEEVES OR LONG PANTS.

We like hearing from you and don't want anything to happen to you out there. Be careful and make sure you get lots of water. As far as running while drinking (NO NO NO>>not THAT drinking...), a little bit goes a long way. Don't drink a lot at a time and you'll be fine.

Great job today!!

Thanks, Scott! Do you see why you can't leave here?? I need ya! :goodvibes

I better go out & buy some more shorts!! :)

Seriously...thank you!!
