Kim's new and improved life journal!

Happy New Year Kim! I'm glad you are starting to feel better. Hopefully having 4 days off will give you a chance to take it easy and recover. You are a trooper to do all that entertaining for DH's family.

Happy New Year, everyone!! :woohoo:

Here's to a great 2007!! I'm coming up with a list of goals for the new year (I've been inspired by my WISH buddies!) Here's what I have so far:

1. Back on the nutritionist's plan, with one "treat" meal per week.

2. Run 3 days per week, exercise an additional 2 times per week (abs, arms, something)

3. Plan out meals for the week before grocery shopping.

4. Cut back on shopping for needless items. The 4 of us (DH, DD, DS and I) all have enough clothes, no matter how good the sale may be! (the only exception is the Christmas gift cards we have :) , and any home repairs/improvements we have planned).

5. Keep in touch with friends that may have slipped a bit, whether through email, cards in the mail, or phone calls. DH and I need to be a lot better with this. (I'm closer to my DIS friends than some of my real-world friends :rolleyes1 )

One other quick thing - looks like I don't have a running partner at work anymore. I'm hoping we can walk at least, but maybe not. She's 18 weeks pregnant and was hospitalized this weekend for placenta previa and some major bleeding. Everyone (baby included) checked out ok, but she's been instructed not to run anymore during the pregnancy. Great news is...she found out a week earlier than planned....she's having a GIRL! She has a 19 month old boy already....so how awesome is that? Anyway...please keep my friend in your prayers that everything will go better for her from here on out.

Hey guys! It's Day 1 of being back on track!! I went to the grocery store last night and came home and cooked/cut/prepped/packed everything I need to stay on track for the 4 day cleansing. And I'm actually excited about it. I'm sick of the bad food (I should be, I ate enough of it just last week alone :sad2: ).

Here's where I stand as of this morning:

I weighed 126 on my home scale. Yes, I know that's not a horrible number - but for me it is. I "finished' by hitting passing my goal weight when I hit 116 on my home scale probably 4 or 5 months ago. How I let myself gain 10 pounds back is beyond me - but I did it. And after how hard it took me to get them off....I'm not happy about it. So they WILL be gone. Actually, I don't know that I want to be 116. But 118/119 is more like it. I want to hover just under 120, and if I go over it...then kick it up a notch again.

I weigh in with Nancy again on February 1st and I want to be back at or just under 120 by then. Totally do-able.

I am going to the doctor this afternoon and hope to get something to help me get this cough under control. I am missing running in the worst way right now. (and unfortunatly it poured buckets here yesterday so we weren't able to pick up the treadmill anyway). But this week is supposed to be in the 50's outside, and possibly 60 by the weekend.....so I want to get OUT THERE!!!

I'll stop back tonight and post how the day went.

(thanks for the positive thoughts for my friend!! :thumbsup2 )

I know you will be able to lose those 10 pounds .... you just needed to get back on track and they will be gone by weigh in with Nancy! Besides, its much easier when were both back on track at the same time haha.
You CAN do it, and well harass u til you do :)

OK guys...is it bedtime yet? I just want day 1 to be over. :sad2:

Food went well. No cheating. Just blah. I guess they call it cleansing for a reason. Anyway...here's what I ate (no set meals...I had to eat every 2 hours):

1 hard boiled egg with lite salt
5 cucumber slices
1 boneless skinless chicken breast
1 small clementine
5 or 6 ounces turkey breast
lettuce w/lite italian dressing & red wine vinegar

20 ounces unsweetened/decaf green tea
70 ounces water
8 ounces hot lemon water

.....I'll just float on off to bed now! :rotfl:

Seriously...I am allowed to eat as much of certain protiens and certain raw veggies as I want during cleansing. But I honestly didn't want any more. Bland, bland, bland. I guess it makes me appreciate the next phase of food even more. :confused3 Enough complaining. I know it works...so I'm doing it.

I went to the doctor and I have bronchitis. So now I have antibiotics, which will hopefully have me feeling much better and out running by the weekend. :thumbsup2

Not much else to report today. I'm gonna weigh myself on Saturday morning to see how it went with the cleansing phase. Then I'll be back to weighing in on Monday mornings at home. (Mondays help keep me accountable on the weekend)

Good job on getting everything prepped before hand...I wish I was that organized!
Sorry to hear about the bronchitis....at least now you're on your way to getting better and getting back out there and kicking butt!!

As good as you did before on the Nancy Diet, that 10 lbs will fall off you in no time!!

nite chickie!!

DO NOT PUSH yourself to run this weekend if you arent 100% better..u dont want to end up sicker..u need to get better so i can come over-work with me here, would u?
FEEL BETTER AND REST :)

Ok.....day 2 done. WHEW, I'm 1/2 way there people! Here's how today went:

1 hardboiled egg
cucumber slices and raw broccoli with red wine vinegar
approx. 4 oz. turkey breast
2 scrambled eggs
1/2 grapefruit
12 oz. decaf tea unsweetened
60 ounces water
20 ounces decaf green tea unsweetened

Not a lot of water today - but I have a funny taste in my mouth from coughing (sorry if TMI  ) and the water is not going down very easily.

I'm already thinking about what I'm gonna be eating on Saturday. :rotfl: I'm looking forward to an egg white omelet and a turkey burger! Maybe a little pasta for dinner. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Here's to another day on plan! :thumbsup2

HI KIM!!!! :grouphug:

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BELATED HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Thank you for being sooo supportive on my marathon journey! I have appreciated your friendship sooo much! I'll catch up here on the journals after WDW!

Welcome back, Amy!! It's great to "see" you again! I'll be thinking about you and Scott on Sunday while you're doing your thing at the marathon!!

Well guys. I kinda lost it last night. It was 8pm and I was STARVING, but didn't want to eat anything that I was allowed to eat. I ended up going to bed (at 11) with my stomach growling bad, and woke up the same way. And still tired. UGH.

I had a talk with DH. I didn't think I could do cleansing much longer. I think with the combination of that and being sick...I am a walking zombie in a fog. Cleansing last year was easier for 2 reasons. 1) I didn't know what was coming next. I knew I could get through 4 days no problem. I wanted to lose weight SO bad at that point. And 2) I had 30 pounds to lose.

They may sound like excuses (and they kinda are) but I'm seriously losing my mind here. So DH and I agreed that I probably shouldn't have cleansed...I should've just put myself back on the strict nutritional plan (phase 2) without the extras that maintenance allowed. So today is it for me and cleansing. I'm cutting it short by a day, and I can't tell you how excited I am to eat tomorrow!! I'll weigh myself in the morning and see how the 3 days went.

Today's food/drink:

scrambled egg whites
10 reduced fat wheat thins
lettuce/cucumber/chicken w/red wine vinegar
hard boiled egg
5 oz. baked chicken
25 oz. decaf unsweet green tea
80 oz. water

**The wheat thins aren't on the cleansing plan - but my stomach was actually killing me by 11am, so I figured I'd put something in there to hold me over until I could make up my salad for lunch (after I ran errands).

I will still be journaling my food, and I will journal my exercise as soon as I can do some. (send some pixie dust that it's SOON!)

Thanks guys, for your support. You're the best and I couldn't do this without you!

Hey sweetie,

I am so proud of you for listening to your body and discussing the cleanse with your DH. I think it's especially important to be careful since your body is still trying to heal itself. Good for you, Kim!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow! TGIFparty: :drinking1 (water, of course! ;) )

I think listening to your body is the number one best thing you can do--esp. when you're sick. I think it's great you made it through 3 days and that you're now ready to go for the next step.

Get better soon!!

I agree...good job on listening to your body....it's pretty smart!!
Have fun eating tomorrow...eating right, that is!!

Feel better soon...I know you're dying to workout....in time...in time!!

marie
