Kim's new and improved life journal!

Good job on the workouts. Keep it up...you're really on a roll there! Sounds like you avoided disaster with the ankle...glad to see it is 100% now and you were able to get a run in!

Have a great weekend. :)

You are doing a great job on your workouts Kim! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Thanks for the encouragement on the running.:goodvibes I think once I find a good pair of running shoes and maybe lose some weight, I might make running part of my workout routine.

Hope you have a great Thursday!:cool1:

Kim, glad the ankle didn't turn out to be a serious long term issue. Good job winning that battle in the morning and getting out there for your 2 miler. And don't worry about those guys at the gym...9 times out of 10 they are more interested in checking each other out ;)

Have a good day!

OMG!! :rotfl: That's exactly what I'm gonna think about next time I go! :rotfl:

I didn't even have time for potty breaks today, let alone taking an hour away from my desk for a workout. So today didn't happen. :guilty: I'm shooting for another run in the morning, but I have to be in work 1/2 hour earlier than normal, so we'll see. If it doesn't happen tomorrow, then I'll just put in extra time on Saturday, and maybe Sunday too. I left my workout stuff at work so hopefully I can get "away" tomorrow and squeeze that workout in. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the encouragement with the working out. I'm trying hard and enjoying it. My food has been mostly good, but not good enough, so I'm just kind of staying at the same weight - but definitely toning up. So we'll see how it goes. I know that I wouldn't be horrified if I stay this weight and looked toned & fit. So I'm gonna see how things pan out with a few more months of working out. If I'm not happy, then I will figure out an eating plan and it'll be "phase 2" of the road I'm traveling right now. :goodvibes

Thank you so much, guys. I LOVE that car! (and that baby :goodvibes )

OK, I'm gonna whine for a little while....

I would actually have to look back in my journal to remember when I've worked out last. :guilty: Some people handle stress by working out more and "getting their minds off of the stress". Me? I completely STOP working out. I'm not eating bad at all, but I've lost my energy source. My drive (for now). :sad2: It'll come back. I know it will. But work is killing me right now. And when I get home, I'm just behind on everything because I'm working more hours. It's a vicious cycle I'm stuck in right now.

I finished July with 22 miles. The same exact number of miles as June. May's month was big, mostly b/c of the walking I was able to do at lunch in the spring weather. But I'm posting it here that my goal for August is at LEAST 30 miles. :thumbsup2

Ok, time to go to bed. I feel better just getting it "out there".

Kim,
It sounds like you're exhausted and having a rough time. Given the work schedule stress and the heat and all, I just have to point out that you covered 22 miles this month! It was not the full extent of your goal, but it is still quite admirable. Have you had months with zero miles? I know I have and 22 is SO much better than zero. I am POSITIVE you can work in another 8 miles next month above and beyond. That is only one addition "Kim Run" a week, after all! You can SO do that.

It's tough to keep all the balls in the air. It's so great that your eating is keeping good - that is always the first thing to go for some of us. :rolleyes1 You will find your groove again, and until you do, try this one - it's silly. :dance3:

Have a good sleep!

Hi Kim!!

Good to set a new goal and it seems very realistic!!!! August is a new month and a fresh start! Maybe try to find an event to run in the next month or so, it may give you that kick start you need to get into the running again. The gym sounds great....at least you have that to fall back on when the weather doesn't cooperate :). I can't wait to have a fitness center at my disposal....I need treadmill access soooo badly LOL.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Wonderful to see that baby Skyelar is doing so well after the long journey for her and her mom.

Best of luck with your workouts :goodvibes .

Hey Kimmy....
Nice ride....wanna go 4-wheelin'??
Skyelar is adorable!! love the grin!!!

Also, don't cause more stress by stressing about the exercise. You're not overeating, you're not doing anything "un-healthy", so don't worry about it. The new goal looks great!! 30 miles in 31 days....that gives you plenty of time with a completely attainable goal!! Hit it girl!! I might even join you on this one...want some company on these walk/runs?

missed ya again!
marie :hippie:

I might even join you on this one...want some company on these walk/runs?

ABSOLUTELY!!! Thanks for the smack in the face. I need that sometimes.

Corinna - thank you SO much for the perspective. You're absolutely RIGHT. 22 miles is nothing to sneeze at. :goodvibes I appreciate your support so much.

Amy - as always, the voice of reason for me. Thanks as always for sticking with me. :thumbsup2

Well guys, after my whine-fest last night I had a heart-to-heart with myself. I cannot let stress get the best of me. Work is just work. I need to remember what's important to me and in my life. Feeling good about myself is part of it. Having fun with my family is another part. I am not training for a major race like some of my WISH buddies, I am merely trying to get and stay healthy. It still takes dedication and effort and drive. Yes, I falter sometimes. But thanks to you guys I get back on track. Anyway.....I didn't have plans for lunch today so I packed my stuff this morning and decided I'd hit the gym. Instead of weights, I went on the TM. I ran 2 miles in 25 minutes and sweat my butt off. :thumbsup2 My legs are sore (always are on the TM for some reason) but I'm so glad I did it.

Thanks again, guys. I love ya!

Woo hoo! A "Treadmil Kim!" That is so great and very impressive that you were able to turn your thinking around. It sounds like all my cheerleading came a little late....:cheer2:

Take care and have a GREAT Friday!
