Kim's new and improved life journal!

Hi Kim!!

Sorry to hear about your Unintentional Typing Injury....must be severe to affect your lower back like that...please be careful when you are out surfing the net. Remember to use one of those gelly wrist pad things, and be sure to take lots of breaks (maybe every 10 min or so) to give those wrists a rest.

:)

Just kidding....for real, I wish you a speedy recovery. Nice to see that you've still planned some workouts the next couple days!

Have a good night/morning (geesh, it's late!)

Scott, you are too funny!:lmao:

Kim,

I hope you are feeling better soon, sweetie. Try and take it easy until you're feeling 100% better.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I felt better after only taking one dose of antibiotics, so when I woke up on Thursday I was good. I forgot to bring my antibiotics with me to work to take at lunchtime, so I came home for lunch & took it. While I was here, I figured I'd do a little "at home workout". I did 2 On Demand programs and then beaned it and did pushups and arm weights. It was AWESOME!! And so nice to shower in my own shower. :thumbsup2

Thursday night DH, DBIL, DBIL's gf and I went to see The Police in Philly. GREAT SHOW!! :cool1:

Friday I just couldn't get up after 5 hours of sleep to run, but I did go to see Skyelar at lunch!

This morning I went out for a run. Started out great. It was 65 degrees and beautiful. About 1/2 mile into it I rolled my ankle after stepping on a rock. :headache: OMG, did that hurt! I sat down & moved it around. Then I walked on it for a couple minutes and the pain was gone. :goodvibes So I continued on my run (after realizing I hadn't stopped my Garmin through all of this  ) I ended up running (with a couple short walk breaks) 4 miles in 47.23. Really, really good considering my stop for my ankle and a couple walk breaks. :woohoo:

The bad news is....as soon as I stopped running - the ankle hurt bad. In fact, it hurts bad still. It's not broken or anything, I'm sure. So I'm gonna see how it goes and if it still hurts tomorrow I'll consider having it looked at. :sad2:

Guess that's it for now. I'm pretty happy with the workouts this week, and I hope too keep it going. :thumbsup2

Hey lady-
AWESOME job on the running and workouts...WAY TO GO!!!
You had busy busy plans this weekend (now i know why you didnt answer the phone ;))
I hope your ankle is better today! Try to rest and relax and have DH do all the work ;)

Good news - the ankle feels fine today!! Hopefully it was just a one day thing, but we'll see after I run again. :thumbsup2

Hi Kim
Glad the ankle seems to be ok.
Your doing great with all the running & home & gym workouts :)

:goodvibes Sooo glad the ankle injury wasn't serious! Phew...that was a close one.

GREAT run there Kim! AND....I'm really glad you are feeling much better!

Hope the week is a good one for ya'...free of illness and injury!!! :wizard:

Hey guys! Thanks for stoppin' by! Ankle is fine, great actually. Can't use that as an excuse. I'll be hitting the gym tomorrow and Thursday and running on Wed & Fri mornings. :thumbsup2

DD started cheerleading again tonight. Big pee-wee squad member this year. :cheer2: She said on the way home that she doesn't want to do "this" again next year. (she said the same thing last year, but signed up b/c her friend Brittany signed up. Should be a fun season. :rotfl:

Tracy - look at you in the single digit days to your trip!!!:cool1:

Hey Kim,

Glad to hear that your ankle is feeling better! :goodvibes

Great job on getting your running in! :thumbsup2 I tried going out for a run today and I quickly realized that running in 3 year old shoes with absolutely no traction is not a good idea.:sad2:

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

OH NO!! :guilty: Definitely need a sneaker upgrade. :goodvibes But what really matters is you put them on & laced them up & went out there!!! :woohoo: Great job, girl!

Thanks Kim! It's funny because I only ran about 5/50 minutes, but it felt good until my shins started hurting. :( I do have new running shoes (New Balance), but for some reason, they keep rubbing the side of my foot and giving me a blister. My DH suggested that I try a different type of sock and see if that takes care of the problem. If that doesn't work, then it's off to the store to buy some Nikes!:cool1: Thanks for the encouragement!

Hey Tracy - it's not how much you ran, but that you went out there & exercised...and decided to "push it" a bit by running some of it. :thumbsup2 Bust out those better supporting sneakers (and thicker socks maybe)and let me know how you do!!

As for me, I hit the gym today by myself. My gym buddy forgot her gym bag at home, so she went home to workout at lunch. I was apprehensive, but I did it. Of course, today when I'm by myself is the busiest day I've seen so far at the gym. And all guys. I just did my workout & got out of there. Wasn't the most comfortable situation I've ever been in, but I'm proud of myself that I didn't back out of it when 1. My gym partner wasn't coming with me and 2. When I saw how crowded it was. I did it, got the workout in and I'm good now. :thumbsup2

Tomorrow morning DD has an orthodontic consultation at 8, so I'm hoping I can get up early enough for a run. (gotta beat June's miles in July  )

Mornin' Kimmy!
Glad the ankle wasn't anything serious. :thumbsup2
You are much braver than I am...a gym full of men and no partner to help you fend them off??!!! :rolleyes1 Were they all in uniform? :rotfl2:

missed ya!
marie

Well done for getting to the gym on your own.
My gym buddy hardly goes now & i've got used to training on my own, as long as i've got my mp3 player to motivate me ;)

Were they all in uniform? :rotfl2:

Don't I wish!! :cloud9: Nah, they were sweaty, hairy yucky guys who acted like they've never seen a girl in a gym before. I felt this big the whole 45 minutes I was there. Oh, and have I mentioned that this "gym" is really just a workout room here in my building? The room can't be any bigger than 25 x 15 feet.

Enough complaining.

I did run this morning. I had a HUGE argument with myself, because I really didn't want to get out of bed, but the run won out (and when I was done, I was glad). I ran 2 miles in 22.24 minutes - so not bad! And I kept my eye out for stray rocks on the ground so I didn't repeat Saturday's stumble. :sad2: I beaned it when I got home while waiting for DH to get out of the shower and called it a day. :goodvibes

Marie - I'm SO glad you're back!!! Missed ya lots!

Tracey - I did bring my MP3 player, and I think that's the only thing that saved me. I just tuned them all out! ;)

Anna - Thanks!! You're a night owl, aren't ya??

Yippie! No more falls :) Everytime I leave the house to go on a walk, the Hubs calls out "Don't Fall!"

I know how it goes :lmao:

Nice work on the run this morning, will power is a great, great thing!

have a wonderful evening and tomorrow!

So i read the one post about lots of men in the gym--and think i need to come work out with you..
then i got to the hairy yucky part--and you can keep the men!!

And let me just say--i will be over your house for my bday--yahooooooo

(and there are NO typos in this post, thank you very much:snooty:)

1) I'd find another gym if that's all they have are hairy/yucky men!!
2) When's you're b-day Jen?
3) She spell checked it before she submitted it...guess since she's a teacher, she better learn how to spell, huh!!!

Holy crap....that was snarky!!! I'M BAAACCCKKKKKK!!!

As long as the "gym" has usable equipment....I say run with it!!! I'm going to start using the area here at the apartment complex...probably about the same size...maybe smaller. It has a treadmil, stairclimber, a weight machine thingy and some free weights. Works for me!!!

I'm glad to be back....was going through Kimmy withdrawal!! :dance3:

marie :hippie:
