I was there Sunday & Monday. It was cold, but I live here so
5pm the animals are probably ready for dinner & heading in even if they haven't been "called" yet. I think it's a hit or miss time. We rode the Safari Monday afternoon & they didn't even take us in 1 area. Past where the giraffes go inside instead of curving left & entering the elephant area we turned right across fields towards the viewing/deck spot & rejoined by the flamingo pond. Apparently the elephants had already decided they had enough for the day so we skipped that entire portion.
Saw the Painted Dogs running around (I think they wanted to come inside also & were waiting) but usually they are hiding or laying down. The 3 lions were very active on top of the rocks which I was surprised seeing as it was windy. And the cheetahs were all laying out in open areas instead of in the shade along the back so you could really see them. Saw 1 hippo stick his nose up for air in the water
The zebras, rhinos & cattle were out though munching hay. And the goats.
Honestly I was surprised to see that many.
